Infobox

[edit]

I'm not sure the title of the infobox should be "Quester of Varese". Maybe "Casa del Fascio (Varese)" would be more accurate? 11 Vin (talk) 18:45, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@11 Vin: The title of the Infobox should match the topic title. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Infobox

Limelightangel (talk) 20:21, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Ch29.galletti: the Infobox markup was placed above the page markup header, placing the draft banner lower on the page. Do not add markup above this header. I have moved the relevant header to the top of the page.Limelightangel (talk) 21:16, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Limelightangel: Thanks, Do I need to add also a picture in the infobox. Ch29.galletti (talk) 08:24, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ideally you should have as much of what is possible for each template field. You don't need to use all the available fields. The template usually includes fields for a relevant image and possibly a map. Look at the specific template Help for the one you are using, and look at similar pages for good practice. Referencing

[edit]

Citing web sources

[edit]

References 1, 2 and 3 are incorrect, with no authors, article dates or publishers. The link in ref. 2 does not work. Limelightangel (talk) 15:26, 16 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ref. 5 is incorrect and incomplete for a web source: ' "Il palazzo – Montanari" (in Italian). Retrieved 2023-11-15 '. No author, article date or publisher. See Cite Web help and Cite Web template. Limelightangel (talk) 18:51, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Referencing same source multiple times

[edit]
@LIUCTessa09: Use Refname in the Cite template to avoid creating multiple references to the same source: "Often, you will want to use the same source more than once in an article to support multiple facts. In this case, you can click Named references in the toolbar, and select a previously added source to re-use." See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Help:Introduction_to_referencing_with_Wiki_Markup/3

Limelightangel (talk) 21:36, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Limelightangel: corrected it.

Fr04.LIUC (talk) 8:25, 15 November 2023 (CET)

@Fr04.LIUC: Ref. text needs to be in correct case, not all UPPER CASE; and check Help for referencing non-English sources (language/translation)Limelightangel (talk) 09:01, 15 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Missing citations

[edit]

Do not add text without supporting citations. Avoid large text blocks and paragraphs with no references e.g. the whole section on 'Internal Structure' has no references.Limelightangel (talk) 18:48, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Limelightangel Added the missing citation in internal structure even though the text need to be written again because is too similar to the Italian source translated Ch29.galletti (talk) 09:11, 4 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Style

[edit]
  • remove the duplicate content (to location in Piazzale della Libertà).
  • avoid phrases like 'Nowadays' (removed)

Limelightangel (talk) 18:57, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the duplicate content. ~~~~ Ch29.galletti (talk) 14:43, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Limelightangel I removed the duplicate content. Ch29.galletti (talk) 14:45, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Structure

[edit]
  • the destruction of Montanari's frescoes should be in History, not Architecture?
  • '1945' is an unclear and inappropriate sub-section name.
  • 'Images' is not an appropriate section, although Gallery might be.
Renamed the section. LIUCTessa09 (talk) 20:40, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Limelightangel (talk) 18:59, 18 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • The subsection on Case del Fascio should be reduced and linked to the page topic in the lead section. The content here relates to the topic of another page, to which it can be more briefly related.
Thank you, corrected it. LIUCTessa09 (talk) 20:23, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Limelightangel (talk) 10:15, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

  • the following text duplicates earlier content: "It was built as the headquarters of the Fascist Party near the Palazzo del Governo"; and "The Casa del Fascio of Varese was the local headquarters of the Partito Nazionale Fascista"
  • History: needs consistent sub-sections related to the period. The first text relates to Construction period.
  • subsection '1945' is incorrectly placed in the architecture section.
Removed it. LIUCTessa09 (talk) 20:33, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Limelightangel (talk) 10:17, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Limelightangel added the sub-sections related to Construction Period. Ch29.galletti (talk) 14:47, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Review 4/12/23

[edit]
  • needs images, plans and historic images/documents
  • the actual history of the building is limited for a 90 year old historic building
  • the page needs the addition of better See Also, External links and Categories. See:
  1. Help:Categories
  2. Wikipedia:External_links
  3. Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Layout#"See_also"_section
  • location could have addition information e.g. adjacent buildings
  • history sub-headings need dates
  • the three sections on general Casa del Fascio need explicitly relating to the page topic or it will be deleted as it belongs on the existing page on this topic.
  • style: 'throughout those years'; 'architecture needed. to evolve'; 'thanks to';
  • spell out/explain accronyms when first used, with the correct convention for non-English phrases e.g. PNF
  • duplicate content e.g. built as the headquarters of the Italian Fascist Party (three times); Mario Loreti;
  • check convention on use of italics and use these consistently
  • grammar: 'At first the buildings that were transformed into Fascist headquarters, spread all over Italy, were illegal lairs that hosted Gruppi Rionali and other squadrons'; 'pre-existent buildings';
  • link out to Province of Varese could be in lead section, not Architecture
  • structure: the content on symbol appears to relate to Casa del Fascio generally, rather than this specific building.symbol: it is unclear if this building is/was decorated with an 'M', eagle, DVX, etc.
  • check the convention for translating, consistency and formatting of non-Italian words/organizations e.g. in Internal Structure
  • Bibliography: A-Z by author surnames?

Review 11/12/23

[edit]
  • inconsistencies and missing information in references (dates, wuthors, publishers), and unclear that many are in non-Enmglish language e.g. ref. 24 has a clear date and publisher in the web source, etc.
  • duplicate references e.g. refs. 9 & 10
  • no External links
  • See also links not understood with many duplications of in-text links and irrelevant links
  • Italian titles in bibliography have no English translations
  • over-reliance on Italian sources
  • issues with image captions: 'the questura of Varese'; 'Commemorative plaque for Calogero Marrone (Varese)' (unclear topic relevance or image location);
  • issue with image relevance to page topoc: 'Example of a Fascist symbol (in Stazione Centrale di Milano)'
  • the relevance of the text and image for Calogero Marrone is of unclear relevance to the page topic
  • the draft has only 2 relevant images, of the same view at different periods
  • repetition: 'the headquarters for the local Fascist party '; 'the headquarters of the Fascist Party'
  • Location needs rewriting and the sub-heading removed
  • repetitive and multiple issues with consistency and correct use of non-English translations, speech marks, bold and italics e.g. 'Palazzo Provincia di Varese; Palazzo del Littorio; Piazzale Libertà; Mario Loreti; 'Calogero Marrone'; "Case del Fascio"; Case del Fascio; 'Prefettura di Varese (villa of the province of Varese). '; 'Nike is represented with the 'Fasci' by offering the laurel wreath to the Milite Ignoto also known as the 'unknown soldier','; 'of meaningful moments happened '; 'the Fresco painting'; etc.

  • the content still needs better differentiation from the broader topic and existing page on Casa del Fascio
  • structure: 'The Casa del Fascio in Varese was designed and built on a triangular piece of land given by the Province of Varese starting on 7 March 1933.' - belongs in History or location, nor Architecture
  • link out to Fascism is far too late in the article
  • poor sub-heading: 'Internal structure during Fascism'
