Move article

[edit]

I think this article should be moved to Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters since it focuses more on the Disneyland attraction. --Evanwohrman July 6, 2005 01:36 (UTC)

Issues

[edit]

I recently changed some things with the article that bugged me.

  • De-cluttered opening paragraph
  • Re-arranged attraction facts list so it is in order of opening dates

I still have an issue with the prominence of the Disneyland attraction in the article, starting with the article name. Following tradition with other Disney attraction Wikipedia articles which are named after the ride's first incarnation, this article should be Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin - the ride opened in 1998, it has been around for nearly a decade yet the article focuses on the version which opened last year. Right. Yes, many Disney attractions first premiered at Disneyland, which is why their articles are named after the Disneyland version, but this one didn't - if I don't get a good opposing view to my view, I will rename the article and re-work it within seven days. Plus,. we should have synopsises of all rides - yes they follow pretty much the same storyline, so we either give each attraction a proper (but similar) synopsis, or we re-work the current synopsis for DL's attraction to be a bit more open to the other versions. Otherwise, pretty good article :). --Speedway 18:37, 29 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I vote for "Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin" since that was the original name, or possibly which ever name was used most recently (that seems to be what Wikipedia does). The article talks about the ride in general more than the Disneyland version. --blm07 00:21, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Etch-a-Sketch?

[edit]

On the Magic Kingdom version of the ride, at least, mission details are explained on a View-Master (partially visible in the photo of the animatronic Buzz), and there is a diagram of the ride vehicle drawn on a Magna Doodle. I don't recall an Etch-a-Sketch. Have I just forgotten it, or do the details vary from park to park (in which case a detail about one version ride probably doesn't belong in the general information section)? --Andrusi 20:48, 30 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

At the Walt Disney World version (Space Ranger Spin, the original), Buzz uses a View-Master to explain each step of the upcoming "mission." At Disneyland's version (Astro Blasters), a more technologically advanced Buzz interacts with an oversize Etch-a-Sketch as guests file by, and shoots at a meticulously etched Z. --Sirrobin33 04:37, 10 December 2006 (UTC)Sirrobin33[reply]

Ride target point values

[edit]

I've been trying to find out what the ride targets are worth, but without luck. I think the circles are worth 50 points and lit circles are worth 500. I believe the lit triangles are 10,000, but I dont know. I heard that the "Z" targets on the Zurg figures, and the Z's in the dark tunnel are worth 10,000 to 100,000 points, but I haven't found anything specific online. anyone have any more info? - In the Magic Kindom park, the point values range from 100 to 100,000. It is possible to Max out your score before reaching the half way point of the ride. 12.201.133.32 08:00, 10 March 2007 (UTC) Nichole L[reply]

Is there really a need to link Tomorrowland four times in the infobox, once for each attraction? sovereign°sentinel (contribs) 14:23, 11 August 2015 (UTC) sovereign°sentinel (contribs) 14:23, 11 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Drum Cadence in Queuing Area

[edit]

Is there any trivia about the cadence that plays in the queuing area? Is there a difference between the theme parks? Does a transcription of it exists? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brandonwise (talkcontribs) 16:34, 28 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
