Ready for review
  • Britishfinance, congratulations on having your first DYK on the Main Page yesterday, and for submitting this, your first self-nomination. I see that Cowlibob added a "?", but did you intend for your hook to also include everything beyond that (minus the sources, of course)? If so, it would be way over the 200-character limit. If you'd like, you can integrate part of that additional info into the existing hook, and/or create ALT hooks. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 20:55, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • Thanks Mandarax. DYK is all new to me so I am still finding my way in it. I would be open to any opinion/views you have on what is the best hook/ALT hooks from the above? I wasn't sure whether to go for a shorter one (e.g. of the 4 statements, just add the first and second) OR, whether more "substance" is needed? I thought the topic might be both interesting and entertaining (and it has gotten real coverage in RS, both as the Border and for its book). Please do re-structure in whatever way you think works, as it will help me to understand DYK. Thanks again. Britishfinance (talk) 21:02, 30 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
  • I've removed the sources from the middle of the hook, putting them all at the end. The hook, currently 222 characters, is a bit too long. You and/or whoever comes along to review it will have to decide what to cut or how to reword it within 200 characters. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 02:28, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • It's 199 now. That included your removal of the km/mi conversion, which will probably end up getting added again, but a little leeway of a few characters over the limit is sometimes allowed. I'm hiding all of this preliminary text so it won't discourage reviewers who might otherwise think a review has already begun. MANdARAX  XAЯAbИAM 21:39, 1 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
  • This article is new enough and long enough. The hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. The hook is still a bit diffuse, personally I would leave out the bit in brackets. I think this is your second DYK, so no QPQ needs to be done. There is really no need to hide the previous discussion! Cwmhiraeth (talk) 19:09, 9 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Pointless

[edit]

This is the most pointless article I have come across on Wikipedia. There is no justification for having an article dedicated to a defunct, self-congratulating, satire Twitter account that was never particularly funny to begin with. It is not encyclopedic. That Robert Peston or anyone else once followed an internet account revered by Fintan O'Toole and Guardian types is a nugget of knowledge that is unlikely to ever be an particular use to anyone in the future.

This article should be nominate for deletion. 212.250.174.132 (talk) 10:59, 2 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
