Reliable sources

[edit]

This page is used wrong reference. Allkpop is not good at using on Wikipedia. Allkpop is community that people don't know the Korea and Korea culture. This site is a lot of gossip and not detail information. Won96 (talk) 08:38, 20 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedy deleted because they meet the notability requirements for WP:BAND. They meet criteria 11 and 12. They've been on rotation on music programs and they have been the subject of a long radio program and even appeared on a lengthy variety show. Snowclrops (talk) 03:14, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I do not see any sources what so ever that this band had been on music programs or any shows. Sources are a must. CanadianLinuxUser (talk) 18:02, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

If you are needing sources since you can't seem to find them, I shall share some. http://www.newsprime.co.kr/news/articleView.html?idxno=202538 Here is an article about them being on MTV for a show called MATCH UP which is a multi-episode show, with B1A4. Yoonese (talk) 22:24, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

http://www.allkpop.com/tag/block-b in case you are needing to be able to understand the articles. They have a pretty up-to-date list of articles in English about shows and music programs they've been on. Yoonese (talk) 22:28, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why not just visit their homepage, too? http://brandnewstardom.com/blockb.do It's got information about the band, pretty sure it could be used as a source. --Shadowsneverdie (talk) 22:32, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

They've been on music shows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVloY_JIIhg on SBS' official Youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/SBSMusic1 Even Block B's official Youtube http://www.youtube.com/user/BrandnewStardom Shadowsneverdie (talk) 22:38, 12 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

#1 Their own website is not a reliable source. #2 Youtube is not a reliable source. #3 The reliable sources must be on the article, so numnuts like myself can find them. CanadianLinuxUser (talk) 01:21, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Should we be editing these into the thing, or just posting these here to stop from deleting. I'm not sure. http://www.allkpop.com/2011/07/gaon-chart-releases-chart-rankings-for-the-final-week-of-june this article is talking about the numbers for album sells, and the reliable source is at the end/the korean music chart website that has the numbers also. http://www.allkpop.com/2011/06/songs-by-block-b-soul-dive-eluphant-more-banned-by-the-commission-of-youth-protection is about their debut track being banned for play during the day due to content, the source to the Korean article/News site is at the end also. I hope these are helpful. Yoonese (talk) 06:04, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Also just for more reliable sources, they are on Match Up which is a reality show the documents the daily lives. http://mtvk.com/2011/06/14/b1a4-block-b-face-off-in-mtvs-match-up/ the article straight from the MTV Korea site, but in English for the Korean American viewers. Yoonese (talk) 06:33, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was a passing admin and removed the speedy deletion tag. Editors are free to propose afd; but I do not think it will pass given all the results on Google News. You would be wise to include those references as inline citations though. Elle vécut heureuse à jamais (be free) 07:19, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
We changed the references to be inline citations to what they connected to. I hope the article is easier to read to other passing Admins so the speedy deletion tag can be removed again. Thank you for all your suggestions so far. Yoonese (talk) 09:27, 13 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File:45655612.jpg Nominated for speedy Deletion

[edit]
An image used in this article, File:45655612.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion at Wikimedia Commons for the following reason: Copyright violations
What should I do?
Speedy deletions at commons tend to take longer than they do on Wikipedia, so there is no rush to respond. If you feel the deletion can be contested then please do so (commons:COM:SPEEDY has further information). Otherwise consider finding a replacement image before deletion occurs.

[edit]

I would like to add more sources to this article as there are not enough to justify every fact.

In "2011: Debut" : Please add a source to "the first episode of MTV's Match Up! was aired featuring Block B and B1A4." http://www.soompi.com/news/newcomers-b1a4-and-block-b-to-be-featured-in-new-reality-program Which gives more details about that reality show.

In "2012: "Welcome to the Block" " Please add a source to " preview of their new single "Nanrina" (I go Crazy) was revealed." http://www.soompi.com/news/block-b-releases-teaser-video-for-comeback-mini-album which shows the video of this preview.

In "2012: "Welcome to the Block" " Please add a source to "A second teaser was also revealed three days later." http://www.soompi.com/news/block-b-releases-second-teaser-video-for-nanrina which shows the video of this preview.

In "Controversy With Thailand": Please add a source to "an interview that had taken place in Thailand a month earlier": http://www.soompi.com/news/block-bs-controversial-behaviour-in-thailand-outrages-2pm-members which explains what has been said during their interview and has been controversial.

Please add a source to "released a video": http://www.soompi.com/news/block-b-apologizes-to-fans-with-90-degree-bow which shows the video of the apologies and resumes it.

I hope my request can be approved. Thank you!

Not done: It is difficult to judge whether those soompi references are reliable sources. In general, the best sources tell what was seen - they do not show it. I think these sources may suffer from being self-published as well as being primary sources. We prefer to use secondary or even tertiary sources to avoid interpreting the events ourselves. Finally, the fact that all of the sources are soompi adds the concern that they may be of more value to soompi than to the reader. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 22:15, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. The following details should be added to the "Controversy With Thailand" section of Block B's Wikipedia page:

- Although a number of people took offense to what the group said during the interview, some of Block B's comments (like the one regarding "7000 won") were not translated properly. Because the mistranslated information was widely circulated, it made the situation seem more serious than it actually was. source: http://www.kpopstarz.com/articles/5401/20120224/block-b-fans-complain-thailand-interview-exaggerated-blown-out-of-proportion.htm

- Several media outlets blew the Thailand interview out of proportion and based some of their news articles on unreliable sources. source: http://www.allkpop.com/2012/02/block-bs-thailand-incident-were-they-the-only-ones-at-fault

- While many people began or continued to support Block B after they apologized, and after initial misunderstandings were clarified, others encouraged Block B to disband or to commit suicide. The intensity of public backlash caused P.O., the youngest Block B member, so much distress that he was hospitalized for a few days. source: http://www.allkpop.com/2012/02/block-bs-p-o-hospitalized

Not done: I read the three sentences currently in that section and it seems to me that including the details you mention would give them undue weight. If you would say the actual text you would like to add, that would make it easier to judge. Thanks, Celestra (talk) 22:30, 11 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Breaking News, anyone?

[edit]

Just this: http://www.allkpop.com/2013/01/breaking-block-b-sues-stardom-asks-for-exclusive-contract-to-be-nullified

Yes. That is dead link. I found and add new reference in korean news. Please check my edit. ––Lee Geonju (talk) 06:41, 26 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Member Citation

[edit]

Hi, I've noticed that someone's using Sumandu as their information source for the band's profiles. Sumandu is often not up to date, and I really don't think that citation should have gone in the section header anyways - I'll try to find a better place for it.

Removal of some awards

[edit]

Per previous consensus, I removed the awards like Soompi and Allkpop. By extension, I removed the fan-run awards, as well. Shinyang-i (talk) 06:27, 19 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

BASTARZ

[edit]

How would people feel about giving the subunit their own wikipedia page? I think there is sufficient information to give Bastarz their own page which would include their discography so it doesn't fill Block B discography. Alicia leo86 (talk) 11:44, 5 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
