Moors lived in medieval Spain

[edit]

Hello! When the article says that the first church was destroyed by “the Moors”, this may be diplomatic but is not only slightly incorrect. The destroyer of town and church in 1632 was the Mughal army under their general Qasim Khan, to whom Emperor Shah Jahan had assigned the task. See Shah_Jahan#War_with_Portuguese.

What we call Moors nowadays are the Muslim inhabitants of medieval Spain. Additionally, the Muslims of Sri Lanka and of the Philippines are called moors. Otherwise, it is a term of abuse and at least not very nice. I feel that we should be more accurate with the conquerors because we know who they were and why they did it.
