Useful source

This article http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2013/07/26/the-good-hacker-barnaby-jack-dies.html at The Daily Beast goes into quite some detail that could expand the article. μηδείς (talk) 17:02, 27 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Photo issue

[edit]

As we don't have any photos of Barnaby Jack, and he is deceased, so we won't have a chance to obtain any new ones, I went out looking for a freely licensed one, but there is not one to be had, in my searching. So I asked the person in charge of the Black Hat events on Flickr to kindly make a particular one available (they have posted several), but I have not obtained any response so far.

If we cannot obtain a free license photo in a reasonably short time, can we use a news portal-published one per Free Use? --Mareklug talk 03:08, 28 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I took one at Defcon 18 that I could publish under free use - does this affect personality rights or anything? Jagermo (talk) 18:39, 18 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

How did he die?

[edit]

Barnaby Jack died a week before he was about to reveal how to hack into a pacemaker. It’s not inconceivable that someone may not want the vulnerability of implantable medical devices to become common knowledge. We need to assume he was murdered, unless proven otherwise.--Lila711 (talk) 22:00, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Why not assume that his experiments in cardiology backfired and he damaged his own heart?173.72.63.150 (talk) 05:12, 12 December 2013 (UTC)Hans Wurst[reply]

"A San Francisco police department spokesperson told the Guardian Jack was found dead by "a loved one" in an apartment in the city's Nob Hill neighborhood and that no foul play was suspected." from The Guardian 29/07/2013 http://www.theguardian.com/technology/2013/jul/29/barnaby-jack-hacker-cause-of-death . Also: "The San Francisco medical examiner's office has said it could be several months before the cause of death for acclaimed hacker Barnaby Jack is released.". 213.181.51.50 (talk) 18:07, 27 December 2013 (UTC)[reply]

There will always be conspiracy over Barnaby's death however we now have the 'official' cause http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-25598791

I couldn't (at the time of posting this) find any other sites detailing the news however I expect they will arrise shortly

There are plenty of articles on the controversy surrounding his death, and while it may be pure fiction it's worth a mention on his page as controversy? No?
