You might want to check your facts the origin of the name "Sheepshead" or "Sheephead" for this fish. I have lived in Beaufort and Charleston South Carolina since 1971 and have fished for this fish many times. I was told over thirty years ago the name came from the shape of the face, and especially the teeth. The teeth look like human teeth or sheep teeth. My inof could be wrong, but you might want to check.

Population and Range

I feel like this article could use some expansion, particularly in regards to the range and overall population of this species. The only data we have is that it's listed as, "Least Concern."
