Marbury Hall

[edit]

I am starting a new article on Marbury Hall, now demolished and part of Marbury Park. I find some evidence [1] that Salvin designed the hall, but it is not referenced in his page. Does anyone have any other proof Salvin was involved at Marbury?  Pixie2000 (talk) 06:52, 17 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Anthony Salvin

[edit]

An ejoyable entry. Salvin has received much criticism over the years (less so in his lifetime) for his iconoclastic approach to restoration particularly of churches. In some cases his renovations destroyed many original features in pursuit of his faux-gothic view. This included a disasterous alteration of the interior of his own parish church of St Margaret of Antioch at Fernhurst. Should a balanced critique of the different opinions on his actions be expanded and would this benefit/improve this article? Dorkinglad (talk) 12:58, 23 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
