Contradiction

The Another_Suitcase_in_Another_Hall#Background_and_recording section says:

Rice and Webber had already enlisted actress Julie Covington to sing the part of Eva, hence they were on the look-out for other supporting vocal personnel. [...] Dickson and her manager, Bernard Theobald, had a discussion with Rice and Webber about starring in the musical, but her voice was declared "too delicate" for singing the numbers on Evita. So they offered her one-song which was not sung by Eva's character, and that was "Another Suitcase in Another Hall".

Which is it? If they had already cast Covington as Evita for the album, they can't have then rejected Dickson for the lead because her voice was too delicate - the part wasn't available. Or, if the second sentence refers to the 1978 musical, what's written doesn't make sense either, because they didn't give her a part in the musical at all.
