Sinful Head

[edit]

More do it yourself scholarship from yours truly. I was googling variants of his epithet, and the Cennchairech given by O Corrain led me to a snippet of Thornton. About that time or right after I discovered the DIL entry when I searched for cairech on its own. So I think we can put "Scabby-Head" to rest. Those mistranslating it may have been scholars but not of the language itself. "Sinful/Guilty/Criminal Head", which I understand to mean something like evil-minded, makes so much more sense it is just unbelievable. DinDraithou (talk) 00:46, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
