Yes, but I remember standing on the bridge in West Calder as the steam trains bellowed and spit their path underneath. The Addiewell station became an isolated platform in the 1970s. Arrivng from Edinburgh was quite a surprise in the snowy winters, requiring a significant trek through drifts of several feet up the hill to Addiebrownhill then Loganlea.
