The A6144(M) is now marked as the A6144 on current OS maps.

This is true, but I can confirm that it's definitely still the A6144(M) on the ground. The start of motorway regulations sign is still there. Richard B 01:05, 17 November 2005 (UTC)

At least according to the maps it wasn't possible to travel between the A6144(M) and the A56 without going on other motorways - the parallel roads along the M60 are shown by the OS as also being part of the M60.

Special Road orders recinded?

[edit]
"The A6144(M) ceased being [a] special road on 25 May 2006, and hence lost its motorway status..."

Have the special road orders actually been recinded, or has the motorway status been removed independently of this? I ask, because the road still prohibits pedestrians and cyclists like a special road, and because special roads that are not motorways exist (e.g. the A1 in Edinburgh/East Lothian). Erath 16:13, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, the special road orders have been revoked. The road retains a number of restrictions that were made with a local traffic regulation order. Richard B 16:59, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Righto, ta muchly. Erath 17:01, 1 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Exist or not?

[edit]

I don't understand - the article says that A6144(M) was a motorway but the infobox shows that A6144(M) still exist. What's going on here? Do the road act still like a motorway or as an A-road (national road? trunk road?) ??
