Winter Break

[edit]

May be worth removing the mention of the Winter Break in the lead; it's not key information, and is in substantial doubt due to the shortened season — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A00:23C7:9C91:4300:2145:270A:EBFF:86C7 (talk) 12:33, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Man city survival

[edit]

man city have 57 points, liverpool have 76, 19th place watford have 24 and 20th place norwich have 18. If man city fninsh 18th, then. 18+24+17*57+76=1078 points. 380*3=1140 points. There have been 67 draws. 1140-67=1073 points. 1073<1078. So Man City cannot finfish in 18th or below. 11cookeaw1 (talk) 15:07, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Lead section

[edit]

Is there any direct relevance to next season's PL that Man City have been banned from Europe? I would straight out remove that part. Spike 'em (talk) 15:27, 23 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

If anything, I would put that mention on the league table next to their name. TB Chigz (talk) 16:22, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I think that would be valid. I removed the section in the lead about it. Spike 'em (talk) 17:24, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Leicester

[edit]

Yes, they are more than likely gonna be in the 2020/21 season as mathematically they are but the teams who are on 27 points can still overtake them I know it’s very unlikely but they can still go down JamesisReal07 (talk) 20:54, 3 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Europa Conference League

[edit]

Shouldn't the table show that 6th place qualifies for the Europa Conference League? Jopal22 (talk) 11:47, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's still being planned at this stage. It's not yet an established competition.TB Chigz (talk) 17:41, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It is officially confirmed by UEFA, it's as official as it's possible to be 2A00:23C7:9C91:4300:2145:270A:EBFF:86C7 (talk) 12:31, 20 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Only the EFL champion qualifies for the Europa conference league Grolorito (talk) 01:08, 26 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The 'Note c' of Conference League qualification is confusing, as if Spurs have confirmed qualification as runners-up of EFL Cup, which is not the case. They currently occupy the 7th spot which will likely receive the Conference League spot (barring the incredibly unlikely scenario of Chelsea and Arsenal winning UCL and UEL respectively while finishing outside of top 7 and the FA Cup winners also finishes outside of top 7, then Conference League spot will be awarded to 6th spot). Leeds are confirmed to have Adidas as our kit manufacturer next season not Kappa, and I would also change the shirt sponsor to TBA — Preceding unsigned comment added by 213.18.141.221 (talk) 13:10, 18 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Table

[edit]

OK - for some reason below league table it says "baboon monkey"

I went in to edit to try and fix, but the source code doesn't show that line

Can anyone else fix this 141.92.129.42 (talk) 12:22, 27 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

West Bromwich Albion captaincy

[edit]

I understand that Chris Brunt has left the club, but has it been surely confirmed that Jake Livermore is their captain? Various sources still see him as the vice captain and I haven't seen any update regarding his captaincy.

Until the club officially confirm that Livermore is the new captain it's TBA. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 09:49, 5 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Games played and Goals scored are both incorrect. As of now Saturday 13th March 2021 14:50GMT they should be 278 and 725 respectively. Change 'Games Played' from 280 to 278 ( -2 ) Change 'Goals Scored' from 730 to 725 ( -5 ) 2A00:23C8:1484:1300:B793:11F2:39DB:7E71 (talk) 14:53, 13 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Man City final position (and eventually other teams)

Manchester City is qualified for Champions League group stage, they can't possibly be overtaken by 4 other teams. Ramonanas (talk) 11:42, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I think if that were the case, someone would have reported on it by now. – PeeJay 11:48, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
It's reported by Bert Kassies, which is a very reliable source when it comes to European Football. It's also evident if you try to get Manchester City to 5th place by filling in fictional results; it's impossible to get them to any place lower than 4th. Ramonanas (talk) 12:09, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I have updated the table. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 12:11, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
An alternative source would be that Pep Guardiola mentioned it in City's press conference two days ago ahead of the Dortmund game. – PeeJay 12:18, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Weirdly, though, he says no English team has ever qualified for the UCL 11 seasons in a row, but Man Utd did it 18 seasons in a row from 1996/97 to 2013/14. I assume Pep meant that no English team had ever qualified directly for the group stage 11 years in a row (i.e. avoiding the qualifying/play-off rounds), but it's not a valid claim for him to say that City are the first English team to play in the UCL 11 years in a row without qualifying that statement. – PeeJay 12:22, 15 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Relegation

[edit]

The season has not been completed yet, but can we add a note near the infobox saying this:

On 17 April 2021, Sheffield United were relegated following a 1-0 loss to Wolves.

223.229.183.57 (talk) 09:09, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Pending any announcements regarding the new European Super League, I don't think we can make any pronouncements regarding relegation at this point. – PeeJay 13:27, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

All members of the Big Six have now left the European Super League. Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Juventus remain. The CHAMPIONS! Of the AUDI CUP! (talk) 05:58, 12 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

European Super League

[edit]

It has been reported in many news outlets on the Internet that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur MAY be expelled from the Premier League as punishment for creating this league. If the reports turn out to be true, Sheffield United will not be relegated. Kangaflora (talk) 20:40, 19 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Nothing has been decided yet so Sheffield are still relegated. If they are expelled (which I seriously doubt will happen), then we will adjust the table accordingly. REDMAN 2019 (talk) 12:04, 26 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
