Location of the staithes

[edit]

Can someone identify the exact location of the coal staithes where the accident happened? I would guess that Lord Carlisle, with his coal mining interests, would have built the staithes on the banks of the River Eden to transship the coal into barges, but as I say, that is only a guess.
