Historical regions of Caucasus encompass the larger Caucasus region. Therefore, for this list Caucasus is defined as Southern Federal District and North Caucasian Federal district of Russia as well as the territories of Georgia, Armenia (including Armenian Highlands), Azerbaijan (including the Iranian Azerbaijan) and Pontus.
A lot of those regions overlap with one another due to being from the different time periods, stretching from antiquity to the modern era. Some of them may not belong to one country specifically, but may fit the best in the certain country.
