Description
English: British Air intellicence report about a german Ju 88 G-1 nightfighter landing at RAF Woodbridge airfield by mistake on July 13, 1944, the crew had flown in the wrong direction agains a navigation beacon. This now famous Ju 88 G-1, coded 4R+UR, was equipped with up-to-date FuG 220 Lichtenstein SN-2 aircraft search radar and FuG 227 Flensburg passive homer. This capture enabled the Allies to jam several frequencies of the new FuG 220 radar and, once the FuG 227 homer was tested what it was detecting, led to an special order to immediately disble the Monica tail warning radar used on british bombers. Contrary to other reports in some books or in the Internet this aircraft was not fitted with the FuG 350 Naxos-Z passive homer.
Deutsch: Britischer Geheimdiensbericht über einen deutsch Nachtjäger vom Typ Ju 88 G-1 der versehentlich auf einem Flugfeld der RAF landete, die Besatzung flog in einer falschen Richtung gegen ein Funkfeuer. Diese nun recht bekannte Maschine mit der Kennzeichnung 4R+UR war mit der zur damaligen aktuellsten Funkmeßtechnik ausgestattet, einem FuG 220 "Lichtenstein" SN-2 Radar und einem FuG 227 "Flensburg" Passivempfänger. Durch diesen Glücksfall konnten die Alliierten mehrere Frequenzen des FuG 220 stören und, sobald erkannt wurde welche Signale das FuG 227 auffing, führte zum einem Spezialbefehl das in britischen Bombern benutze rückwärtige Warnradar "Monica" sofort stillzulegen. Im Gegensatz zu Berichten in einigen Büchern oder im Internet hatte diese Maschinen keinen FuG 350 "Naxos-Z" Passivempfänger.
