Emily Duggan (born 28 December 1992) is a motor racing driver from Australia.[1]

Racing career

[edit]

Duggan made her racing debut in the entry-level 2014 NSW Excel Racing Development Series, scoring a race victory in her debut season and finishing seventh overall in the standings. She remained in the category in 2015, competing in both the NSW and Interstate Series – recording several podium finishes and placed third overall in the Interstate Series.

Duggan became the first female driver to race in the third-tier Australian V8 Touring Car Series in 2016, but only competed in the opening round at Sandown Raceway and recorded an 11th-place finish alongside two DNFs.[2] She remained in state-level Hyundai Excel competition for the following two years, with the highlight a win in a one-hour enduro at Wakefield Park Raceway.[3]

Duggan sidestepped to the Toyota 86 Racing Series for 2018, and remained in the series for 2019.[4][5] She additionally competed in two more Super3 races in 2019, scoring one top ten finish in six races.[6]

Having not raced for five years and only previously competed in entry-level Australian categories, Duggan was signed to the Chennai Turbo Riders franchise for the 2024 Indian Racing League.[7] In her first race, she was lapped in an incident-free 25-minute heat at the Madras International Circuit, before qualifying nearly nine seconds slower than pole-sitter Álvaro Parente for her second race at the new Chennai Formula Racing Circuit – Duggan was dropped by the team for local female driver Mira Erda thereafter.[8][9]
