Playing career:

Trivan started playing basketball in the small club Fruškogorac from Sremska Kamenica. He played for juniors and seniors in the position of game organizer ie playmaker. He ends his playing career relatively young at the age of 23 in the Novi Sad basketball club with a great desire to become a coach.

Coaching Career:

During his coaching career, Zoran Trivan worked with all age categories (pioneers, cadets, juniors, seniors and seniors) as an assistant and head coach.

As a head coach, he managed all ranks of competitions (inter-municipal league, second Serbian league, first Serbian league, second federal league and first federal league). He began his professional career as a basketball coach in 1993 in the Elkond club from Beocin as an assistant coach to Jovan Malešević. After the change of head coach and the arrival of Miroslav Muta Nikolic, he continues to work in the club as an assistant coach and coach for individual work. During that period, the club was the champion of the B League of Yugoslavia, and in the 1994/5 season, the club changed its name to BC BFC-Beočin.[1] [2]

He made his coaching debut as a senior federal coach on 17.11.1996 (after Goran Miljković-Finc was replaced)[3] Leading the B.F.C team against Partizan in Belgrade, when he won 69:68 in front of around 2,500 spectators. At the same time, the Raimondo Saporte Euro Cup was played. Trivan made a series of 13 victories out of 14 games, he was declared the coach of the circuit 3 times, and the list of victories included Partizan, C.Zvezda, FMP, Beobanka, Vojvodina, Radnički-BG, OKK Belgrade, Shakhtior, Inter... After an extremely good season, the Association of Basketball Coaches of Yugoslavia sent Trivan to Rome for professional training at the 7 final four of the Euroleague! [4] . In the 1997/98 season, Trivan played with the women's team of Vojvodina in the 1/2 finals of the playoffs and lost 2:1 in a double match against the Port MK team. In Novi Sad, the victory was 74:49, and in Sremska Mitrovica, 82:67 and 76: 72. In the 2007/2008 season, leading the Al-Ittihad team, Trivan made a series of 20 games - 18 wins, but it was not enough to extend the contract. Although he was in the 1st place in the league. 2 rounds after his departure, his assistant took the title of champion of Libya! In the 2009/2010 season, leading FBC Vojvodina, he was replaced by telephone after the victory over the team Radnički - KG 71:64 and all goals achieved before the start of the competition! Leading the senior men and women, Trivan paid a lot of attention to the young players, giving them a chance to show their values ​​and quality. In working with the younger categories, Trivan showed a talent for good evaluation of players and excellent work on training players. Already in 1989, he pointed out the extraordinary possibilities of Milan Gurović , whom he trained in the NAP-Novi Sad team.[5]

He also pointed to Jovan Zdravković (junior national team of Yugoslavia and several professional clubs), Ljubomir Nikolić, player of the vice-champion team B.F.C, Marko Šutalo, Gordana Grubin, Nataša Andjelić, Ljubica Drljača and Aleksej Pokuševski. In Morocco, in the A.S.S-Sale team, several players entered the cadet national team, and one junior played for the first team. Working at basketball camps in Serbia, Trivan pointed out future talents, showing his good coaching sense for quality players. he worked abroad in Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Israel, Libya, Morocco and Poland. Since 1992, during the summer period, he has been working at basketball camps in Serbia Zlatiborbasket, Kasta [6] and TEO4 [7], as a coach, head coach and professional manager.

n the period when he was not engaged by the club, Trivan did individual training with talented players to improve individual technique and tactics. Several of his players graduated from prestigious American universities, and Dr. Dimitrije Chabarkapa is currently the assistant director of the athletic performance laboratory at the University of Kansas-USA.

Quite often, Mr. Trivan was also an expert consultant on Novi Sad television for the broadcast of matches first federal league (Basketball League of Serbia). From 2.-9.8.2000. together with coach Vladimir Bošnjak held an international basketball clinic in Beijing, People's Republic of China.
