Geraldo Gershwin Saal (born September 3, 2007), known professionally as Youngboi OG, is an South African rapper, singer and songwriter. He released his single "How can I love?" on July 8, 2024.[1]

2019-2023: Beginnings, debut single, "The Greatest of Me"

Starting his rap journey in 2019 as an 'Afrikaanse' rapper, he transitioned to rapping in English in 2023, marking his entry into professional music releases. His debut single, "I've been traumatized," released on May 26, 2023, showcased his evolution as an artist. On July 26, OG unveiled his latest musical endeavor, the remix of his debut single "I've been traumatized," titled "I've been traumatized (Drill)". On October 18, 2023, he released a song titled "I don't know". He's debut self-released EP, "The Greatest of Me," dropped on December 2, 2023.[2] He released the single "All of Me" on December 7, shortly after the release of his EP. The beat samples John Legend's iconic track "All of Me".[3]

2024-present: How can I love?, "The One Piece of Me You Didn't Know Exist"

OG showcased his musical ingenuity on January 1, 2024 with the release of "We Go That Way (Remix)" featuring Nigerian rapper CB10. This remix was launched separately after the release of the EP. The original version of "We go that way" featured on his EP "The Greatest of Me."[3][2] He released "Another Love" on April 24, sampling Tom Odell's iconic track "Another Love".[4] On May 24, he followed up with the singles "Alone" and "Me and You".[5] Gaining more traction, he released the single "How can I love?" on July 8,[1] which he later released a remix with American rapper Vito on July 14. His second EP, "The One Piece of Me You Didn't Know Exist", came out on July 28, featuring six tracks, including "How can I love?". On August 11, he released the single "Why?" featuring uuqk and TK Tokio, followed by "You're Mine Now" on August 12. He dropped the "Naruto (Blue Bird) Freestyle" on August 15, sampling Blue Bird by Ikimonogakari and later that day released "Frienemy", with its music video premiering two days later.
