Virtune is a Swedish digital asset management company that issues cryptocurrency exchange-traded products (ETPs). The company was established with the aim of facilitating the integration of traditional finance with the cryptocurrency market by enabling the trading of Crypto ETPs on established financial exchanges.[1]
Virtune's financial instruments are listed and traded on Nasdaq Stockholm, Börse Stuttgart, and Euronext.[2][3]
History
[edit]Virtune was founded in 2022, in Stockholm. In 2023, Virtune obtained its EU Base Prospectus, a key regulatory approval that allows the company to offer its financial products across the European Union. The EU Base Prospectus is a regulatory requirement for financial institutions seeking to issue securities or investment products within the EU and ensures compliance with the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) regulations. Following this approval, Virtune gained notable recognition in the Nordic region, particularly after launching the region’s first cryptocurrency index ETP.[4]
Products
[edit]Virtune issues Crypto ETPs which are a hundred percent physically backed by their underlying asset, and the value of ETPs are based on the underlying crypto assets. Certain Virtune products which are based on crypto blockchains using a Proof of Stake (PoS) system, offer staking returns to investors.[5][6]
As of September 2024, Virtune has launched 10 single asset crypto ETPs (including crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana) and 2 crypto index ETPs.[7]
Investors can access Virtune's ETPs via different banks and brokers such as Avanza, Nordnet, Comdirect, Handelsbanken, Degiro, and Interactive Brokers.[8][9]
