Turn 3 Motorsport is an American motorsports competition team specializing in race car preparation, engineering, and driver development.
History
[edit]Turn 3 Motorsport was founded in 2016 by race car driver and coach Peter Dempsey.[1][2] The team specializes in race car preparation, engineering, and driver development. The team competes in the USF Pro Championships.[2]
In 2019, Turn 3 Motorsport embarked on its inaugural racing season, securing championship titles in the 1340cc, 1500cc,[3] and overall categories of the Blue Marble Cocktails Radical Cup North America. That same year, the team also won the NASA 25 Hours of Thunderhill endurance race.[2][4]
Turn 3 Motorsport won in the season opener of the 2020 Indy Pro 2000 Championship with Danial Frost.[2][5] Throughout the season, the team secured a pole position, earned six podium finishes, and placed third overall. In the subsequent year, Turn 3 Motorsport expanded to a two-car operation in the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship, alongside continuing their Indy Pro 2000 campaign. The team achieved victory in the season finale of their inaugural USF2000 season.[2]
In 2022, Turn 3 Motorsport garnered a podium finish, a win, and pole positions at seven of the nine races on the Road to Indy schedule. These accomplishments were achieved by drivers Josh Green,[6] Jonathan Browne,[1] and Christian Weir in both the USF2000 and Indy Pro 2000 championships.[2]
In 2024, Turn 3 Motorsport secured victory in the season-opening race of the USF Pro 2000 Championship, held in St. Petersburg, Florida, with Lochie Hughes. achieving the win.[7]
