Shernan Sauquillo Jaro (born Oct 20, 1978) is a Filipino politician currently serving as the Vice Governor of Cavite since 2024. Jaro, previously served as a member of the Imus City Council from 2010 to 2016 and was elected as Board Member for the 3rd District of Cavite in 2022.

Education

He completed his first degree, a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science, in 2001 at Cavite State University in Indang, Cavite. In 2009, he also obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from St. Dominic Savio College in Caloocan.

Political Career

Councilor of Imus (2010–2016)

In 2010 and 2013, Jaro ran for a position in the Imus City Council. Jaro served two full terms until 2016.

Cavite Provincial Board (2022–2024)

In the 2022 elections, Jaro won a post in the Cavite Provincial Board which he served in until his elevation to vice governor in 2024.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7]

Vice Governor of Cavite (2024-present)

Jaro was elevated to vice governor following the appointment of then-Governor Jonvic Remulla as Secretary of the Interior and Local Government, while then-Vice Governor Athena Tolentino was elevated to governor.[8][9][10]

2025 Elections

On his plan to return to the Imus City Council, Jaro filed his certificate of Candidacy on October 8, 2024 as councilor alongside Team AJAA, while his cousin Lloyd Jaro will run for a post on the Cavite Provincial Board.

Personal life

He is married to Rowena Balingit Jaro and is the father of Sheridan Ysabelle, Sherlize Yvonne, and Renzo Alexander. He is also the son of former Mayor Oscar Acuña Jaro and Mrs. Constancia Sauquillo Jaro.
