Nkyinkyim Band is a seven-member, five-piece six-member Ghanaian music group based in Accra, the capital of Ghana. Formed in 2014, the band has established itself within the rich traditions of Ghanaian and African popular band culture. They have gained recognition for their versatility, passion, resilience, and originality, drawing inspiration from the Nkyinkyim Adinkra symbol, which represents life’s twists and turns.[1]

Nkyinkyim Band's rise in the Ghanaian music scene was solidified in 2019 when they served as the resident band for the prestigious Music of Ghanaian Origin (MOGO) Awards. Since then, the band has performed at various festivals and high-profile events, both locally and internationally.

One of their most notable performances was representing Ghana at the D’reesha Festival in Qatar during the 2022 FIFA World Cup. Their music continues to gain traction across borders, enhancing their international presence. [2]

In August 2022, Nkyinkyim Band released their debut studio album, "Where We Dey?", a 12-track project that showcases their eclectic sound and musical prowess. The album is a fusion of various genres, reflecting the band's versatility and creative identity. [3]

Over the years, the band has also independently organized several concerts like the annual Nkyinkyim X'Perience Concert drawing large crowds and solidifying their status as one of Ghana's premier live performance acts.[1]

Nkyinkyim Band has collaborated with several high-profile artists in the Ghanaian music industry, including Bessa Simons, Samini, Pat Thomas, Ben Brako, Naa Agyeman, Gyedu-Blay Ambolley, Stonebwoy, Kwabena Kwabena, Fameye, Bisa KDei Ayisi and many others. Their performances have graced major television shows such as GTV’s Breakfast Show, Citi TV’s Breakfast Daily, TV3’s Showbiz 360, and UTV’s United Showbiz. The band has also worked with high profile offices like The French, South African and Norwegian Embassies in Ghana, The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, New York University Accra among others.[4]

Beyond their musical achievements, the band is committed to giving back to society. They have embarked on numerous charitable projects, including donations to the less privileged in the society through their Show Your Love Project.
