Nika Zajc (born 10 September 2007) is a Slovenian, Swiss rhythmic gymnast who lives in Nyon, Canton de Vaud, Switzerland.
In 2023 she won 3rd place at the Slovenian All-Around Championship and 2 nd place at the Swiss All-around Championship in rhythmic gymnastics.
At the Slovenian Junior All-Around Championships (2021, 2022) she won 2 nd place and in 2022 she obtained the highest score at the Switzerland Junior All-Around Championship.
Career

[edit]In 2021, she won the silver medal at the National All-around Championship of Slovenia (pre-junior category) and earned a spot in the Slovenian junior national team. At the annual Sportswomen of the year event for the year 2021, organized under the auspices of the Slovenian Gymnastics Federation, she won 2nd place in the junior category/rhythmic gymnastics.
In 2021 she competed in Switzerland; namely Open Genevois - Genève, Championnat Romand in Cornaux and Championnat Vaudois in Lucens. She won 1st place at all three competitions. She also took part in the Qualifications for the Championnat Suisse held in St. Gallen, where she won 2nd place.[1]
In 2022 she won the silver medal at the All-around Slovenian Junior National Championships and two gold and two bronze medals in all four apparatus finals.
In Switzerland she won the gold medal in Open Broyard de gymnastique rythmique and she obtained the highest score at the Switzerland Junior All-Around Championship 2022.
In June 2022 she competed at the Junior European Rhythmic Gymnastics Championship in Tel Aviv, Israel, together with teammates Ela Polak, Asja Pučnik and Alja Ponikvar. She was 17th in the qualification round with the ribbon. In the team rankings, the Slovenian girls were 17th overall.
Senior
[edit]In 2023 she started competing in the senior category. In April, she was 3rd in the all-around competition of the Slovenian National Championship[2]. In the individual apparatus final rounds, she won 2nd place with the ball and ribbon and 3rd place with the hoop and clubs. In 2023 she won in the Championnat Romand de gymnastique rythmique.[3][4]
At the Swiss National Championship in 2023, she was the runner-up in the all-around category. In the individual category, she won 2nd place with ribbon and 3rd place with hoop. Due to injury, she did not participate in the final with ball and clubs.
