Nicholas Marshall (born 21 September 1984) is a New Zealand-born rugby union coach, who is the head coach of Club Atlético San Sebastián in Spain and was an international rugby union player with Spain.

Club career

Marshall was born in Hawke´s Bay and attended Napier Men's high school where he won the National First XV Championship (New Zealand). He was accepted into the Hurricanes Secondary Schools Representative team in 2002.

In 2003, Marshall signed with the Wellington Rugby Football Union academy. For the 2004-2005 season, he switched to the Hawke's Bay Magpies.

Marshall joined English club Liverpool St Helens in 2006 on a one-year contract. Winning the National League 2 North competition.

On 21 August 2007, Marshall moved to France to sign for Bidart Union Club.[1] Taking home another title, winning the French Championship.

In 2008, he moved over the border into Spain, signing with Bera Bera RT.[2]

Marshall in 2013, joined basque team Ordizia RE winning the Copa del Rey de Rugby.[3]

International career

Marshall earned his first startup for the Spanish team in 2011, making his debut against Romania in May.[4]

In 2011, he debuted for the Spanish National Sevens side playing on the World Rugby Sevens Series.[5]

Coaching career

In 2012, Marshall signed with Club Atlético San Sebastián taking on the role of technical director and coach.

In the same year of 2012, Marshall was Coach and Selector of the Basque Women's Olympic 7s Program, where the majority of his squad represented Spain over the next few years.

Marshall in 2019, signed with La Única RT coaching the senior women´s team.

In 2021, Marshall re-signed with Club Atlético San Sebastián where he currently coaches.
