Harveleigh Monte Rivera White (April 19, 1923 – January 9, 1975) was an educator and civil rights leader in North Carolina.[1] A joint resolution honoring her life and memory was read in the North Carolina General Assembly after his death.[1]

Harveleigh Monte Rivera was born in North Carolina. She married John Owen White and had two children.[1]

In 1952 she joined the teaching staff at Shaw University.[2] The family was photographed at a debutante ball for her daughter.[3]

She was one of several family members to serve as Method's postmaster.[4] Her nomination by the Eisenhower administration was historic.[5]

She and three other women were murdered.[6][7]

A community center in Method, North Carolina is named for her and Berry O'Kelly.[8] It is at the site of the Berry O'Kelly Training School.[9]
