Life and career

[edit]

Raised in Vacaville, California, Hampton showed an interest in music from a young age. He started his solo music career composing ambient music under the name Radagast the Brown, taking inspiration from the wizard from J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth. Notably, the post-production on his albums handled by ambient composers such as Taylor Deupree, Chihei Hatakeyama, and Robert Rich.[6][7]

He released his debut hip-hop album, Upper Crust Confections, serving as the sole producer in 2024 featuring members of Nappy Roots, Outlawz, Hieroglyphics, Souls Of Mischief, Living Legends, Brand Nubian, Leaders of the New School, Jurassic 5, The Pharcyde, Luniz, Swollen Members, Flipmode Squad, Visionaries, L.A. Symphony, Army Of The Pharaohs, Cannibal Ox, Watashi Wa, and more.[8][9][10][11][12][13]

In 2016, Hampton co-founded Skylight Motion Picture and released the band's first EP in 2017.[14][15][16] Hampton wrote the band's album "Music From the Film," mixed and mastered by Jeremy Edwardson, which was released in 2022.[17][18][19]
