History

[edit]

EuroGroup Laminations, originally founded as Eurotranciatura S.p.A. in 1967 by three cousins and six factory workers[3], initially focused on producing steel laminations for electric motors and generators. In the mid-1980s, the company began expanding in Europe, acquiring Alcast, which specialized in rotor casting, and Corrada, a maker of electric steel laminations for various applications[4]. This consolidation led to the formation of EuroGroup Laminations with an international growth strategy.

In 2006, EuroGroup opened its first foreign facility in Mexico, followed by plants in Tunisia, China, and the United States, and partnerships with Japanese firms like Kuroda and Marubeni-Itochu Steel. Today, the company operates 16 production facilities worldwide, 10 of which in Italy and 6 abroad (1 in Mexico, 2 in China, 1 in the U.S., 1 in Tunisia, 1 in India)[5].

In the 2010s, EuroGroup expanded its focus on electric mobility, supplying components to automakers like Volkswagen and Porsche. In 2020, private equity fund Tikehau Capital joined the Group's shareholding structure[6], and three years later, EuroGroup Laminations was listed on the Italian Stock Exchange[7]
