Zamora was born into a family with deep roots in the Rio Grande Valley. His father, Armando Zamora, was a fisherman and captain from Port Isabel, Texas, while his mother, Maria Elena Zamora, is a housewife. Zamora has three brothers and eight sisters.

Zamora graduated from Los Fresnos High School in 2008. He is a trained martial artist, holding a third-degree black belt in taekwondo and a purple belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
