Chuen Yen Chow (born December 5, 1932, in Nanjing, China, died August 20, 2022, in Henderson, Nevada) was an aerospace engineering professor and researcher known for his contributions to aeronautical studies. After emigrating with his family to Taiwan in 1949, he earned a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 1954.

Chow pursued advanced degrees in the United States, obtaining M.S. degrees from Purdue University (1958) and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (1961), followed by a Ph.D. in Aeronautical and Astronautical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1964. His academic career began at the University of Notre Dame, and in 1968, he joined the University of Colorado Boulder as a professor, where he remained until his retirement in 2000. During his career, Chow authored and co-authored several textbooks and held a Distinguished Professorship at the U.S. Air Force Academy (1979–1980).

Chow’s work in aerospace engineering focused on flight dynamics and performance, and his contributions to the field are recognized through his teaching and research.[1][2]
