Split?

[edit]

Might I suggest this category be split by month, or even day? It's only existed for 7 days and 12 hours and already has 3040 entries. That's about 17 new items an hour every hour forever, or about 400 per day every day. On the other hand, having it all in one category might make looking for specific prefixes easier. Maybe there should be this "all" category for alphabetical similarity and a daily/monthly for people looking for similar recent activity among different usernames. I think a similar duplication is done with maintenance tags. --Closeapple (talk) 22:08, 29 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I agree with the above. If no one has any objections, I'll try to modify the template to implement this. Avicennasis @ 20:22, 13 Sivan 5771 / 15 June 2011 (UTC)

Category Maintenance

[edit]

Both {{Uw-coi}} and {{Uw-coi-username}} contain the comment THE FOLLOWING CATEGORY SHOULD BE REMOVED WHEN THE USER IS BLOCKED, OR IT IS DECIDED THAT THIS USER DOES NOT HAVE A COI, OR THIS TEMPLATE HAS BEEN IN PLACE FOR A WHILE WITH NO ACTION. with that category being Category:User talk pages with conflict of interest notices. Currently, it has over 41,500 pages in it, so I think this category has been a bit neglected. Would anyone be opposed to a bot performing automatic removal of this category after a period of time? Say, two weeks, or a month? I think it would help make this category useful again for those that might try to keep an eye on it, if it contained only recent notices.

This is posted to Wikipedia_talk:Template_messages/User_talk_namespace#COI_category_maintenance.3F. In the effort to keep discussion centralized, please reply there instead of here. Avicennasis @ 09:49, 4 Tishrei 5776 / 09:49, 17 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]
