Missing Games

[edit]

How can we go about adding a few upcoming games (Final Fantasy XVI, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine) since these are allowed on other pages? That would be useful information. Neptuna ReVerse should also be added since rereleases with extra content should count as Pikmin 3 Deluxe does on the Switch equivalent page. Also, VR stuff like Horizon: Call of the Mountain should be added since, to my recollection, the PS4 equivalent page did list VR games. 97.90.99.230 (talk) 17:30, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Neptuna ReVerse should be added. Why hasnt anyone added it? I'm trying to myself but I'm inexperienced. McNep (talk) 02:11, 19 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
it's a port, it's not exclusive to ps5 207.47.232.127 (talk) 18:31, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, if it's just a port, then why allow Wipeout Omega Collection on the PS4-only page? Or New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe and Pikmin 3 Deluxe on the Switch page? ReVerse is similar to those games; yes, it's a port but it does have exclusive features and content.97.90.99.230 (talk) 16:33, 22 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
None of those games should be listed as exclusives. In my opinion, Demon's Souls shouldn't be either. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Teader3 (talkcontribs) 06:06, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I don't necessarily disagree with that, but I don't understand why the same scrutiny isn't present on either the PS4 or Switch pages. These kinds of lists only work when the same rules apply to each platform. 97.90.99.230 (talk) 17:33, 23 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's a game that is exclusive to the console since it's been made from the ground up with extra content for it. It's silly to not put Neptunia ReVerse and Demon's Souls as not exclusives when the mainstream gaming culture considers them as such. Redquil (talk) 03:01, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I added Neptunia ReVerse a while ago but it got removed by another user. I don't know how to resolve disagreements about category lists. Redquil (talk) 03:09, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There's also currently a duplicate - "Marvel's Spider-Man 2" and "Spider-Man 2 (2023 video game)" refer to the same game. 2A00:23C7:6402:EB01:7910:8603:1577:7D (talk) 12:51, 16 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think that Detroit Become Human is also only available for PS5. 187.91.116.118 (talk) 11:10, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well, it would be weird because i have it on my EGS account and saw it on Steam 88.229.201.20 (talk) 15:17, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

R type Final 3 and Finger Fitness need to be added to the ps5 only games section — Preceding unsigned comment added by Umar58 (talkcontribs) 21:57, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

also forgot to add firewall ultra Umar58 (talk) 22:14, 27 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I had a page for R Type Final 3, but it seems that it got moved. The categories must have been messed up in the process. I'll add it back. Firewall Ultra will need a new page written. I don't know anything about Finger Fitness though. Redquil (talk) 16:33, 28 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone edit this article and remove the trolls?

[edit]

I don't know why the article states there are only 5 PS5 exclusives, there is simply no way a new Playstation has only 5 exclusives after 2-3 years. Can someone fix this? 79.140.150.193 (talk) 11:47, 6 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

There's only 5 yeah. Most new games are still being released on PS4 as well, and Sony has started selling on the PC market. Probably need to remove Returnal from this page soon, as it's been found in the Steam database already. Personal opinion, Demon's Souls is also a PS3 game, and there's only three games in this category. SchröderFranz (talk) 21:41, 18 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What about digital only releases? Finger Fitness seems to be a PS5 exclusive, to mention one. 98.128.186.92 (talk) 14:25, 9 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
You are displaying obvious obvious bias and treating unconfirmed rumors as facts. Wikipedia is a place for accurate information, not your personal opinion. Look at the way other pages for system exclusives are treated; those are the examples we should be following. Ctrice21 (talk) 14:57, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]
It's not obvious bias. While I agree with him, a compromise can be made by italicizing it, since it's not a real PS5-only game but a remake/remaster. 2001:4455:615:8300:6D37:45C8:F025:5CBC (talk) 15:20, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't understand why upcoming games aren't included and italicized. The Switch page has unreleased games like Dragon Quest Treasures, yet this is missing Spider-Man 2 and Wolverine by Insomniac. Also stuff like Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth are technically exclusive at the time of writing even if it's predictable that they will be ported to PC, but that's arguably the case with Returnal and that's still on this list. I also don't get why specific rereleases like Neptunia ReVerse aren't included when Pikmin 3 Deluxe is comparable, and is included on the Switch page. 97.90.99.230 (talk) 17:24, 26 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]
What needs to be fixed is articles being created for the three other confirmed exclusives; Insomniac's Spider man 2, Insonmniac's Wolverine, and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth (essentially Final Fantasy 7 Remake part 2, confirmed to be a PlayStation 5 exclusive in the recent SquareEnix stream). A page also needs to be created for Finger Fitness, the digital only release as mentioned by another user. There is a clear pattern of bias and trolling on this page, as Final Fantasy XVI, a confirmed exclusive, was removed without reason. Ctrice21 (talk) 15:23, 15 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

That's because these ARE the only five actual exclusives for the system, believe it or not! Every other game is available on other systems, or also the PS4, or also on Windows/Steam (I thought The Last of Us remake was a PS5 exclusive at first but the game's page indicates a future Windows release).

The system shortages and so many people being unable to find a PS5 to buy it means most of what would be exclusive titles made for the thing after launch migrated to being projects for the PS4 as well. Nobody is fixing this because there's nothing to fix, that's reality! Take it up with Sony if you have an issue with that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:8804:1329:D700:59B7:97B5:1DE3:F0F4 (talk) 01:29, 7 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Are you telling me people are fighting and paying scalper prices over a console that has 5 EXCLUSIVES?? 79.140.150.193 (talk) 01:17, 29 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I would like to add some games to this list 10rings (talk) 17:30, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: it's not clear what changes you want to be made. Please mention the specific changes in a "change X to Y" format and provide a reliable source if appropriate. Lemonaka (talk) 19:34, 31 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
I want to add games that should be on that list but arent such as spiderman 2, wolverine, FF7 rebirth , stellar blade and a few psvr2 games 10rings (talk) 11:04, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@10rings: You shouldn't edit this page, go to the bottom of each article instead, Wikipedia:FAQ/Categorization#How_do_I_add_an_article_to_a_category? Shellwood (talk) 11:53, 1 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Timed Exclusivity?

[edit]

Several games on this page are not Playstation 5-only games, but are instead delayed multiplatform releases such as the Final Fantasy titles. Is it appropriate for them to be in this category? 71.200.238.194 (talk) 10:28, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I agree they shouldn't be considered, the whole situation is basically an open secret and everyone lying to themselves. But that itself is the issue, everyone knows they aren't really exclusives but they technically are until official announcements are made. 72.89.196.137 (talk) 00:59, 7 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

VR is not exclusive.

[edit]

Here we speaking about "PS5" exclusive games and only PS5 games. VR needed the hardware. If i don't have a PSVR i can't play a PSVR Games. Delete PSVR games. Fanboys need PSVR games be added, because the list of PS5 only games is just fucking cheap. Erwinn59 (talk) 11:43, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I disagree, they belong on this page since you need a PS5 to play them; they're not playable if you only own the headset without a PS5. Plus, the PS4 page has had VR titles for years and no one's cared. But I think they should be differentiated from the non-VR games in some way. 97.90.99.230 (talk) 17:00, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

ffxiv and ff7r are timed exclusives and should be removed

[edit]

also rift apart should be removed 66.205.105.173 (talk) 16:09, 30 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No they shouldnt. In that case dont add any games to the list since they will all eventually be released on pc. FF16 should still be there since a pc version hasnt released yet Umar58 (talk) 10:05, 3 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Then spiderman 2, wolverine, FF7 rebirth , stellar blade , Rise of the Rōnin , should also be deleted because the PS5 "version hasnt released yet" 88.139.76.44 (talk) 21:12, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think the difference is that all of those games have been officially acknowledged as releasing on PC, whereas FF7 Rebirth hasn't (yet). FF16 definitely doesn't belong on this list since its eventual PC port has been directly acknowledged. 50.126.98.125 (talk) 01:14, 30 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This list is not a list of "PlayStation 5-only games"

[edit]

The category is a list of games exclusively released on the PlayStation 5 but 5 of the 12 games have not released anywhere. Adding games that haven't been released is confusing and inaccurate as anyone can announce a game but it's not exclusive to the PS5 until it actually releases.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is a great example. An official trailer says it will be exclusive to PS5 "at least until 05.29.2024". Why is this game on a list of exclusives because it is planned to come out exclusively for PS5 but it also plans to not be a PS5 exclusive 3 months later? When a game releases exclusively for the PS5 it should be on the PS5 exclusive list and if that changes in the future that game should be removed from the list.

I would understand the use case for having 2 extra categories for games that plan to be exclusive to the PS5 and also a list of games that are exclusive that plan to not be exclusive in the future but as it stands it's not accurate to reality and is filled with hopes and promises instead of actual facts. 104.180.79.1 (talk) 11:57, 13 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think the games should be removed, but they should be differentiated from released games in some way. This is a problem on every platform exclusive games list; for instance, the PS4 version of the list still shows Deep Down and the Switch list shows Metroid Prime 4 despite neither being released yet. The PS5 list in particular is unfortunate since it's missing R-Type Final 3: Evolved and Neptunia Reverse despite ports w/ new content being allowed on both the PS4 and Switch lists. 97.90.99.230 (talk) 18:45, 15 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think there should be a separate page for Playstation VR exclusives since you need an extra device on top of the PS5. Crumpet time (talk) 04:24, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

R-Type Final 2 should be R-Type Final 3 Evolved

[edit]

Can something be done about this? I see that it's supposedly an "updated version" for PS5, but since it doesn't have its own article because it's 2 at it's core, it shows up as 2 instead of 3 Evolved UltraViolet24 (talk) 21:31, 1 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Adding R-Type Final 3 Evolved and Neptunia ReVerse

[edit]
  • What I think should be changed:

R-Type Final 3 Evolved and Neptunia ReVerse should be added to this category.

  • Why it should be changed:

R-Type Final 3 is a sequel to Final 2 and has significant differences from 2, including the addition of a new campaign, and it runs on a new engine. Neptunia ReVerse also has new content in comparison to Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 Plus. Other equivalent pages, such as the "Nintendo Switch-only games" page include games that appeared on other systems, but have more content (or new content) compared to the original release. To name some examples: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Collar × Malice: Unlimited, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD, and Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate. All of these are equivalent examples. Jursha (talk) 19:47, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Not done: Firstly, adding articles to a category is done by editing the articles, not the category. Secondly, the two games you suggested don't have independent articles yet, only redirects. I don't see any pressing reason to add them to mainspace content categories right now (perhaps later when they develop into independent articles), per WP:RCAT. Liu1126 (talk) 20:03, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Category:Nintendo Switch-only games
On this page, several games, such as the aforementioned Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, are not independent articles either. Yet they do appear on this list. Maybe it's not "pressing" but the PS5-only games page could use a little more attention. I will look into editing the articles themselves, however. Jursha (talk) 20:07, 8 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]

synapse?

[edit]

i believe synapse is only on ps5 70.189.102.173 (talk) 17:41, 20 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You're right. It needs a page of its own (or maybe a redirect) in order to be added to the PS5-only category. Jursha (talk) 22:13, 24 June 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's a PSVR2 game, and PSVR2 is now available on Steam. Singbad82 (talk) 05:15, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That just lets you use PSVR2 to play PCVR games. You still need a PS5 to play Synapse (or Project Wingman Frontline 59, Dark PicturesSwitchback, etc.). Jursha (talk) 12:37, 15 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

FINAL FANTASY XVI is not a Playstation 5 Only Game

[edit]

The game has been officially announced for PC through official Square Enix social media channels and has a visible Steam page along with a release date that has been confirmed by Square Enix.
