Early life and high school

[edit]

McCaskill attended high school at Oak Ridge. Coming out of high school, McCaskill was rated as a three star recruit where he decided to commit to play college football for the Houston Cougars over schools such as Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Notre Dame, Penn State, Michigan, Ole Miss and Vanderbilt.[2][3]

College career

[edit]

[edit]

In week three of the 2021 season, McCaskill had a career performance rushing for 118 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Grambling State.[4] During the 2021 season, McCaskill rushed for 961 yards and 16 touchdowns while also hauling in 113 receiving yards and two touchdowns. His 16 rushing touchdowns set a Houston true freshman record.[5] For his performance during his freshman season in 2021 he was named the American Conference freshman of the year, and second team all conference.[6][7] Before the start of the 2022 season, McCaskill suffered a torn ACL which caused him to miss the entirety of the 2022 season.[8][9] After not playing in the 2022 season, McCaskill decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal.[10][11]

Colorado

[edit]

McCaskill decided to transfer to play for the Colorado Buffaloes.[12][13] During the 2023 season, McCaskill rushed just 14 times for 59 yards in four games in order to preserve his redshirt and use it to redshirt in 2023.[14] After the conclusion of the 2023 season, McCaskill decided to enter his name into the NCAA transfer portal for the second time.[15][16]

Arizona State
