Tip of the moment... How to easily recall a username Trying to recall an editor's username can be challenging. There are various ways to solve this: If you remember the beginning of the username: Click on: user-contributions or contributions link either at the top or side of any article page Type the first couple of letters in the username box: wait 15-seconds and the box will magically appear with usernames starting with that letter combination If the username is still not there, type in another letter and wait. Usernames are case, punctuation, and space sensitive, so if a username is CamelCased, has punctuation, or has spaces, you will have to try those variations too. If you have ever conversed with them, you could check the histories of your own talk page and talk page archives. Set your view to (500). In your contributions, you could limit the namespace to user talk, and that would give you the names of all the users you have posted to on their talk pages. The same with the talk namespace (via your contributions). You could also search the talk namespace for your own signature, to locate the threads where others may have replied to you Where do they hang out? What are they renowned for? If you can remember where they have posted messages, then you can find their username. The Tip of the Day project provides a different piece of advice for using Wikipedia every day. Like the Picture of the Day, you can include it on your userpage by adding {{totd}} somewhere (at the top of your talk page is a good place for it). The randomized version (displayed above) is {{totd-random}}, and shows a different tip each time it is displayed on your screen. Other formats for the TOTD exist, such as the more compact {{totd3}}, or you can make your own by including {{Wikipedia:Tip of the day/{{CURRENTMONTHNAME}} {{CURRENTDAY}}, {{CURRENTYEAR}}}} on your userpage (which includes the raw text, without any formatting) and then enclose it in your own formatting. To float the tip of the day to the right of content (as it is displayed here), place this code where you want the tip to show up: {{right|{{totd3}}}}.
