OriginalMr and Mrs Andrews is an oil on canvas portrait of about 1750 by Thomas Gainsborough, now in the National Gallery, London. Little known until the 20th century, the painting drew great praise after its first exhibition and was an icon of British art by the mid-1950s. Interestingly (and to great effect), it combines portraiture and landscape painting.
