A belated welcome!

[edit]
Sorry for the belated welcome, but the cookies are still warm!

Here's wishing you a belated welcome to Wikipedia, Stefan Weil. I see that you've already been around a while and wanted to thank you for your contributions. Though you seem to have been successful in finding your way around, you may benefit from following some of the links below, which help editors get the most out of Wikipedia:

Also, when you post on talk pages you should sign your name using four tildes (~~~~); that should automatically produce your username and the date after your post.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! If you have any questions, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page, consult Wikipedia:Questions, or place {{helpme}} on your talk page and ask your question there.

Again, welcome! -- Trevj (talk) 08:25, 3 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Prods of redirects

[edit]

Hi,

I just removed a bunch of prods you placed on redirects that included "the the" in the title. The WP:PROD policy states that it cannot be used on redirects. Please instead nominate those for deletion at WP:RFD. If you think the deletion rationale for all of those redirects is the same, then you could probably nominate them all in one group nomination, rather than as a bunch of separate nominations. Calathan (talk) 16:15, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you not simply fix my deletion request instead of reverting it? Or simply wait some days until those pages got deleted (even if my request was not formally OK)? --Stefan Weil (talk) 16:19, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't start an RFD discussion myself because I wasn't certain those should be deleted. Even though the old titles were clearly typos, they seem harmless and could theoretically be linked from somewhere outside the project. You are the one making the argument that they should be deleted, so you should be the person who starts the RFD (I see that you've done so). Also, I certainly wasn't going to leave them prodded when prod didn't apply to them. Following Wikipedia policies is essential to Wikipedia functioning, and exceptions to policies should only be made when there is an important reason to do so. Leaving a few old, harmless redirects in place for another couple days certainly doesn't amount to a situation where policy should be ignored. Calathan (talk) 19:56, 5 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]
