Excellent beginning! I'll talk through some things to add in class today!Hakeleh (talk) 12:11, 14 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Main categories to work on:

1. history and lab techniques - Kmcging

2. signaling and tissues of plate - n1424

3. variants across species and stages of development - olefsky

History and Research Techniques

[edit]

Research on the neural plate began with a burst in research on the determination of the ectoderm and its commitment to the neuronal path. With the development of research and laboratory techniques there has been major advances in the topic of neurulation, the development and role of the neural plate in a developing embryo. The use of such techniques vary with the stage of development and overall research goals, but include such methods as in situ hybridization, grafting and cell labeling. [1].
