The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Conflict of interest

[edit]

Your user name suggests you are the same person as the subject of the Lane Sutton article. I hope you will take a look at Wikipedia's advice about conflicts of interest. Wikipedia discourages people from writing about themselves, because of the difficulties in remaining neutral and avoiding promotion. I've added back the "Conflict of interest" template which you removed. By removing the template you have demonstrated there is a currently problem. Maybe there will be a point in the future where the template can be removed, once you've shown you can edit in an unbiased and neutral manner. Kind regards. It's best to keep the conversation here on your Talk page where others will expect to see it. Speaking personally, if I thought there were any major issues with your article I wouldn't have moved it to main article space. Others will disagree with my view, I'm sure (one already has). To keep other editors sweet you definitely need to keep your edits on the article to a minimum (preferably none at all). If there are major changes you think are appropriate, the best avenue would be to request them by leaving a message on the article's Talk page.
If you are indeed Lane Sutton you have hardly hidden the fact, so I would see your username as an open and honest declaration of your conflict of interest. Conflict of interest is a very hot topic on Wikipedia at the moment, I'm sure you know, so it pays to be very careful. Sionk (talk) 01:24, 31 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]
