Thankyou very much for the Butterfree. It's very much appreciated. :) Going straight on my user page, that! Thanks again. Double Dash 22:43, 5 August 2006 (UTC)

Hovering over your barnstars

Hey Highway, I was just stopping by to let you know that users using Popups cannot hover over your barnstars and see the "alt" text, instead they just see the image link page. (I know this is true with Firefox, not sure about IE) —Mets501 (talk) 12:05, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm not sure what to do about the problem. I'm using IE, so I'm not aware of the other problems. I'll probably add the the captions and barnstars to a user page. Thanks for pointing this out, Highway Return to Oz... 12:18, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
No need to apologize to me! I was just pointing it out (and it also looks like you just now got another barnstar below!). Writing the captions is a good way. You could try playing around with {{click}} if you want., although I'm not sure if you can get anywhere with that (perhaps that template with a self-link so that Wikipedia won't render it as a link?) —Mets501 (talk) 12:26, 6 August 2006 (UTC)
I have a full size trophy case here. Thank you for pointing it out, and good luck in your RfA. :) Highway Return to Oz... 13:30, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

For your great work

The Working Man's Barnstar
For your tireless work and fine contributions to Pokémon articles, I award HighwayCello the Shiny Starmie Star. Lividore 12:10, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Naetle, Hikozaru, Pochama

Hi, I was just wondering - would numbering these Pokémon really be considered OR? Because it'll be obvious to a lot of people, and it's pretty pointless wondering about it - when it's definite that these will be the Pokémon numbers (387, 390, 393) going on what Nintendo does with other games. It just doesn't seem to me like OR. If you agree, I'll add the numbers. Double Dash 16:51, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

To quote WP:OR:-
Original research is a term used in Wikipedia to refer to material placed in articles by Wikipedia users that has not been previously published by a reliable source. It includes unpublished material, for example, arguments, concepts, data, ideas, statements, or theories, or any new analysis or synthesis of published material that appears to advance a position — or, in the words of Wikipedia's co-founder Jimbo Wales, that would amount to a "novel narrative or historical interpretation".
As far as the articles go, the only reliable source when it comes to the Pokédex entries, is an official guide of the games themselves. While it may seem obvious, it's still original research. Sorry, Highway Return to Oz... 16:54, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Re: Just a note

Thanks for pointing him to me (I'm honored :). A disambiguation page is pretty appropriate, but Kevin can stay where it is; I created the disambiguation page at Kevin (disambiguation) and took care of linking to it. I also left a note on that user's page, to give him the heads up. -- Natalya 19:05, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

Dr. B's Red vs. Blue barnstar spam

Hi there. Just wondering how / where do you think this issue should be reported? around 20 users seem to have been given the spam stars, and I dunno, some may actually deserve barnstars. And User:Dr. B seems to be on permanent wikibreak. Bwithh 21:30, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

A smile for you...

Re: Deletion information

The reason for deletion was fair-use img used only in templates (on PUI >2 weeks). I guess it had been put at Wikipedia:Possibly unfree images, and was there since July 22. If you want, you can talk with the deleting admin, Angr. Hope that helps. -- Natalya 11:03, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

quilava...

you knew it was coming.... didn't you? I realize that you spent a lot of time working on that section. And i kept much of it intact. I hardly feel like you even really spent the time to compare the articles because if you had you would have at least kept the grammatical and technical corrections i made. please respond either on my talk page or on Talk:Quilava. Zappernapper 23:33, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

... well since you figured it was fine to just completely reverse someone's work and then leave, i'm reverting quilava, you can discuss it with me when you get back, enjoy germany and don't forget to try the schnitzel (weiner is the best, cause i won't eat veal) Zappernapper 05:13, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

the type 3 was merely a typo, like i said... and i thought the brief explanations of why rock beats fire added some depth. fixing a typo, and deleting part of a sentence, that's all that's needed. WP:DR Lists of types are redundant when you have a wiki going to further explain it. If ALL the info is right there, what's the point of wikifying it? that's it, i'm done, if you really want to completely change it back go ahead, at least then clean up the grammar and spelling, and fix the mislabelled ref (namely "cyndaquil pokedex entry" it goes to serebii but it say pojo). have a nice vacation Zappernapper 16:55, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

Hercules?!

Still, I'd rather that than Harry Potter! Anyway, I've left a note at Talk:Quilava, to try and explain the OR nature of the edits. Enjoy Germany! I was meant to go to Amsterdam with my school band (I'm one of the singers, a tenor), but it clashed with my holiday... smurrayinchester(User), (Talk) 17:03, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

you don't need to hide in suitcases...

I'll admit i got a little peeved (ok a lot peeved) that you reverted all my changes then put up a wikibreak sign. i felt like the work i had put into the article had been flushed down the toilet and then that same person ripped out my plumbing and took a plane to... well... Germany. I didn't feel that you were following the wiki quidlines for revisions (specficically on WP:DR) and became defensive. If you had felt the last paragraph (Quilava's moovepool) was too OR simply stating that and removing only that paragraph would been have a lot more considerate (even though i mentioned i wanted feedback on the talk page before deletion so i could have the chance to fix it up). Many of the other edits were good solid changes (like ref corrections, spelling corrections, and obvious grammar corrections) this work was all lost because you simply reverted everything i did. If you want to keep the entire list of adv/dis for the fire-type, i promise to leave it alone until we can discuss it. I've gotten very little actual feedback until recently (and it still doesn't address many other reversions) so I'm sure you can understand why complete reversions were frustrating, even celestianpower only revised and improved things i had added, not reverted them to former errors. I hope you enjoy your trip, and i'm sorry you had to leave with someone arguing with you. Zappernapper 07:42, 9 August 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for my Wiffle Bat

Hi HighwayCello,

I just realized I never thanked you for leaving me a Wiffle Bat award. I really was tremendously honored to receive it, I just got caught up in real life around that time. Anyway, a very belated but heartfelt "thank you". Best, Gwernol 04:18, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Goldom's RFA

Thank you for your support on my RFA, which closed successfully this morning with a result of (53/2/1). I've spent the day trying out the new tools, and trying not to mess things up too badly :). I was quite thrilled with all the support, both from the people I see around every day, as well as many users who I didn't know from before, yet wrote such wonderful things about me. I look forward to helping to serve all of you, and the project. Let me know if there's anything I can help you with. -Goldom ‽‽‽ 04:23, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

HighwayCello, thanks for signing up for the Esperanza User Page Contest. The judges have received the fifteen entries, and are ready to start judging. The judges will take a week to complete the judging process, and they will contact all the participants when the judging is done.

Please drop by the contest page for contest updates and questions. Take care, and good luck! May the Force be with you! Shreshth91($ |-| ŗ 3 $ |-| ţ |-|) 08:09, 13 August 2006 (UTC)

Bulbasuar on main page

In reply to your July 29 comment on my talk page - I didn't think the bulbasaur article on the main page was a disaster; other than my mistake (in not transcluding the pokenum template) I thought it went rather well, actually. Raul654 16:32, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

August Esperanza Newsletter

Program Feature: To-Do List
The Esperanza To-Do List is a place where you may list any request, big or small, for assistance. If you need help with archiving your usertalk, for example, all you need to do is list it here and somebody will help you out. Likewise, if you need help with some area of editing on Wikipedia, list it here! Again, any matter, trivial or not, can be placed on this page. However, all matters listed on this page must not be of an argumentative nature. You do not need to be a member of Esperanza (or this program) to place or fulfill requests on this page. If you don't have any requests, consider coming by and fulfilling a few! This program has not been very active, but has lots of potential!
What's New?
In order to help proposed programs become specific enough to make into full-fledged programs, the In development section of the proposals page has been created. Proposals that are promising, but need to be organized in more detail are listed here. Please take a look at what is there, and help the proposals turn into programs.
To improve both the layout and text of the front page, in an attempt to clarify the image of Esperanza, the front page is going to have some redesigning take place. Please take your creative minds to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Front page redesign to brainstorm good ideas.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
  1. In order to make sure all users who join Esperanza are welcomed, a list of volunteers who are willing to welcome new Esperanzians is at Wikipedia:Esperanza/Members#Esperanza_welcomers. Please add yourself if you are interested; we want to make sure all new Esperanza members are welcomed!
  2. The In development section of the proposals page has been created.
  3. Proposals page: Some proposals have been moved to the aforementioned "In development" section, some have been left as a proposal, and others have been archived. For those proposals that were a good idea but didn't necessarily constitute a program, General Esperanzial Actions has been created.
  4. Two small pieces of charter reform will be decided on in a straw poll at Wikipedia talk:Esperanza/Governance. One involves filling the position of any councillors who may leave, the other involves reforming the charter.
  5. Until cooperation with the Kindness Campaign is better defined, it remains as a proposed program.
  6. There is a page for discussing the front page redesign.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

I noticed that on Minun's page as well. Did you get the idea from his page, did he from yours, both of you from someone else's, or did you both happen to come up with it? Either way, I like it. --Gray Porpoise 20:39, 14 August 2006 (UTC)

seing how ur doing

Hey, you may recognize me from the pokemon adoption center 2. I took couple minutes (minutes, hours, same difference) to see what was going on and a i began readinbg about the dude minun. Just curious about what his problem is and why he hates you so much. Bobcheezy 01:36, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

Please upload these pictures and replace the current ones please!

I know, this whole Pokemon picture crisis is dumb and such, but since it was WPM (creator of Pokebeach.com) who cleaned up these pictures, he DEMANDS credit for them by having his site address on the pics, I used paint to add them myself, here are the pics:

http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/7803/dorapionvp7.png

http://img83.imageshack.us/img83/7523/pachirisuqo4.png

This is imortant to me because WPM won't even speak to me anymore, and honestly, I don't blame him, as this is my fault to begin with, so do me this favor and upload these pics of the Pokemon and put them in the right pages please! Hero of legend 22:53, 20 August 2006 (UTC)

Disband WP:WFA?

Should we disband Wikipedia:WikiProject Featured articles? Minun isn't going to be around and that project is quite pointless with 2 members. Alvin6226 talk 02:15, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
