WikiCup question

Sorry to be a pest, but I noticed that I haven't been credited any points for the GT articles in my submissions page, but GAs I've listen since listing the GT have been credited. I just wanted to make sure I didn't do something wrong with the GT submission. Can you check for me? — Hunter Kahn 20:20, 20 January 2010 (UTC)

WikiCup 2010 January newsletter

We are half way through round one of the WikiCup. We've had some shakeups regarding late entries, flag changes and early dropouts, but the competition is now established- there will be no more flag changes or new competitors. Congratulations to Hungary Sasata (submissions), our current leader, who, at the time of writing, has more listed points than Pennsylvania Hunter Kahn (submissions) and New Orleans TonyTheTiger (submissions) (second and third place respectively) combined. A special well done also goes to Isle of Man Fetchcomms (submissions)- his artcle Jewel Box (St. Louis, Missouri) was the first content to score points in the competition.

Around half of competitors are yet to score. Please remember to submit content soon after it is promoted, so that the judges are able to review entries. 64 of the 149 current competitors will advance to round 2- if you currently have no points, do not worry, as over half of the current top 64 have under 50 points. Everyone needs to get their entries in now to guarantee their places in round 2! If you are concerned that your nomination will not receive the necessary reviews, and you hope to get it promoted before the end of the round, please list it on Wikipedia:WikiCup/Reviews. However, please remember to continue to offer reviews at GAC, FAC and all the other pages that require them to prevent any backlogs which could otherwise be caused by the Cup. As ever, questions are welcome on Wikipedia talk:WikiCup and the judges are reachable on their talk pages, by email or on IRC. Good luck! Don't forget that one too. Thanks. Headbomb {ταλκκοντριβς – WP Physics} 14:27, 6 February 2010 (UTC)

Hello. Is it at all possible that you could share the flame file for your Julian_Fractal image? —Preceding unsigned comment added by High Deity (talkcontribs) 02:05, 7 February 2010 (UTC)

Glad to hear you're finally nearly done on that damn portfolio. I would help but probably as a wingman. Too many albums left, right, and centre these days in my head. I might actually do another type of FA in the near future. I hope you find the sources. I would scour mags that might have had an interview spread about it in the Feb or Mar issue, there's usually one or two. Cos the online sources are a bit iffy. RB88 (T) 12:36, 10 February 2010 (UTC)

I know, hey. Took bloody ages. That's perfectly fine, I'll just use the format of another album article of yours ;P I'd be very grateful if you could find any offline sources for it; I don't generally buy magazines anymore... Good luck with the "other" FA - interested to read it when you finish :)  GARDEN  12:38, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, I'll do the best I can. I'll also have a look at mags ASAP, the perks of working for an international pop culture gallery. Let's hope they didn't give a spread to some random local US rag. RB88 (T) 12:47, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Absolutely. Thanks very much :D  GARDEN  13:17, 10 February 2010 (UTC)
Hello, I hope you're done with that portfolio and drinking yourself silly or Scottish as it's known south of the border. I checked the major and major-ish mags and couldn't find any big spreads, only one page interviews. There are however, a lot of juicy online reputed spreads, which seems to be the order of the day for blogosphere-buzzed albums. Have a look at "Los Campesinos!" on recent Google News or search "Los Campesinos! interview". Let me know if you're unsure or have questions about sources. RB88 (T) 22:38, 12 February 2010 (UTC)

WIkicup GT problem resolved

Hey Garden. I wanted to let you know that my GT points now count at the WikiCup. Sorry to have pestered you so much about that problem. However, I wanted to let you know I finally resolved it by changing my submission coding not to what is listed on the Submissions page, but to the coding used by another user who had GT points counted toward them. You can compare the coding we used here and here to the coding under Wikipedia:WikiCup/Submissions to see the differences. Perhaps the Submissions page has to be changed or updated? — Hunter Kahn 18:11, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Misplaced Wikicup points

Not really a big deal or anything, but I received points in the Featured sound column at WikiCup, instead of featured picture, where it should be. See my submissions. Thanks. Jujutacular T · C 06:22, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I did that edit on the A Weekend In The City page, why doesn't it make sense? It makes perfect sense to me. Kele's lyrics are fucking embarrassing on that album and that review tells it so.

I consent to being renamed to "Fl2" so that User:Garden may usurp this account. (I didn't really use it anyway). --Fox —Preceding unsigned comment added by Fox (talkcontribs) 00:27, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Hi there. You removed your own request with this edit and I am wondering whether you wanted to do so or not (since you used "fix malformed req" as an edit summary). In case it was a mistake, I guessed you would like to know. If you planned to do this, ignore me. Regards SoWhy 13:22, 20 February 2010 (UTC)

Pashalik of Yanina

Well, thanks for the advice, but i did not repeatedly revert any edits. I did one. And as per the editing policies, I believe I was restoring the well referenced material. I would've appreciated if specific reason would've been provided on my talk page instead of a plain warning, which admins are usually fond of. No offense intended. —  Hamza  [ talk ] 13:20, 25 February 2010 (UTC)

While you're at it, you might want to check out User:Kostja, who also broken 3RR, with 4 sterile reverts within a few hours, zero discussion, and no attempt at compromise. He is also tag-teaming with User:Apcbg. Athenean (talk) 21:45, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
