Template talk:User COI

Template:User COI is permanently protected from editing because it is a heavily used or highly visible template. Substantial changes should first be proposed and discussed here on this page. If the proposal is uncontroversial or has been discussed and is supported by consensus, editors may use {{edit template-protected}} to notify an administrator or template editor to make the requested edit. Usually, any contributor may edit the template's documentation to add usage notes or categories.

Bolding

I'd actually like to make some changes to the wording, too. It's currently This user has made a public declaration indicating that they have a conflict of interest with regard to the following Wikipedia article: X. I think it can be simplified to This user has publicly declared that they have a conflict of interest with the Wikipedia article X or, for multiple articles, This user has publicly declared that they have a conflict of interest with these Wikipedia articles: X Y Z. {{u|Sdkb}} ^talk 07:20, 27 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding pronouns in the userbox

Hi, I wanted to ask about this use of pronouns on this userbox template. I don’t see anything in the source code that replaces “they” with “he” or “she”, (e.g. this user is declaring he has a COI), but I’ve seen the change in action when I placed the userbox on my page. Is the ubx on the documentation page simply transcluded and outdated, or does the template replace g/n pronouns where possible? I don’t have much knowledge in regards to template editing, so I’d appreciate the clarification. Nordberg21205 (talk) 03:00, 28 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
