R avoided double redirect special code

Why does "R avoided double redirect" have special code in this template? It looks about the same, so I'm not sure what it's purpose is. --Gonnym (talk) 17:34, 14 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Can you please remove the arrow used on the depicted {{Redirect category shell}} template? I don't think it should have the arrow because without it would look more like the actual template, see my recent edit at Template:This is a redirect/rcat/sandbox to see what I mean. Here is the actual template for clarification:
