Ady Gil sinking

Cast table

[edit]

As I've mentioned above in #Cast information, the cast table needs to reflect the entire history of the series but generally shows only the latest positions held by various people and seems to include anyone who has been named on screen. Cptnono decided to remove the table entirely,[1] but I disagree with this, as some description of the cast is warranted. However, the cast table does need to be pruned and should be converted to prose format. In the absence of a proper cast list, for now I have arbitrarily limited the table to captains of the vessels and people who have boarded Japanese vessels, since the boarding of Japanese vessels became notable events, being reported in multiple sources worldwide. There may be some reason to include some of the other people mentioned so, rather than delete them entirely, I'm moving the deleted portion of the table here until the cast can be re-examined.

Should anyone be interested in improving the cast section I welcome your assistance, especially in adding sources. --AussieLegend () 01:56, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not familiar with the series, but per encyclopedic norms we're not here to catalog every fact about the series, we're here to deliver a general perspective of the series and focus on the most important people, events and information. I would probably convert the table to prose, and only focus on the regulars from the cast, not minor recurring figures. Wikipedia is not IMDb, and the minors can be amply represented there. This list does not include Larry Routledge, an Ady Gil crewmember who later became a jet ski driver. He assisted Pete Bethune on his attempt to board the Shonan Maru No. 2 — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.74.128.84 (talk) 05:26, 5 February 2017 (UTC) This list also does not include Beck Straussner. He was a jet ski driver, who was once knocked off of his jet ski by a water cannon on the Yushin Maru No. 2[reply]
