Cause of death

[edit]

What did he die of so early? (44?!)

Heart attack. 219.93.152.3 05:34, 6 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
There is a real story behind this which Malaysians are not proud to discuss *sigh*. I saw recently in some documentary channel that he suffered alot of stress due to been shunned and has to attend to court for standing guarantee for a friend whose loan was defaulted. This is a shock to many of us when we saw the documentary and when i relayed to others, many find this fact hard to believe as these are not made public. - Red1 D Oon (talk) 03:02, 12 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not Tan Sri Datuk Amar, but Tan Sri Dr. P. Ramlee

[edit]

Putting more than one of the federal or states title together is not a practice in Malaysia. It is because when you get a Dato' Seri but then awarded Tun, you will only display Tun, or the highest rank of the titles. For instance, Tun Dr. Mahathir is the latest name, formerly known as Dato' Seri Dr. Mahathir (the 4th Prime Minister of Malaysia).

In P. Ramlee context, he has been awarded Datuk Amar and Tan Sri, but Tan Sri is the highest rank of the titles. Thus, he should bear only Tan Sri and not being attached with Datuk Amar together. It will also be superfluous and make the name look longer if all title awards be put together with his name. There is no "Tun Tan Sri Dato' Seri...." -- only the highest is displayed. Thus, P. Ramlee should bear only Tan Sri Dr. P. Ramlee.

Nevertheless, the most important is, the superfluous thing is not a practice in Malaysia, and only a few people do not notice about this. Master of Books (talk) 16:12, 15 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Possible copyvio removed

[edit]

Note: I've already removed the text added by an anon that created the revision linked to above. It appeared to be a bad cut-and-paste job, but from where? There are so many copies of WP articles on the web these days that it's almost impossible to find the original source for suspect text. Can someone else please research this? (BTW, I've heavily edited the article since my reversion to remove the possible copyvio; see the page history.) - dcljr (talk) 11:02, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
