Is the special mention of this PhD actually relevant?

[edit]

The OPA method is a major part of Dr. Amin Mahmoudi's PhD thesis from the Southeast University of China.

The paper seems to have been mentioned before anyways, and the sentence, to me as someone who is just trying to get a quick overview what this method is doing, was rather pointless, unless there is further relevance to Dr. Amin Mahmoudi besides his (probably fine) work on this topic? 141.20.126.192 (talk) 15:13, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

It is common to mention the origin of the method on Wikipedia pages. For example, you can check: VIKOR method, "S. Opricovic had developed the basic ideas of VIKOR in his Ph.D. dissertation" Scholartop (talk) 22:48, 1 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
