Lot's of vandalism happening to this page after the "2018 Chiefs/Rams" game with some guy throwing his Twitter handle in there as well, thanks. 76.181.244.197 (talk) 05:19, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

San Francisco 49ers vs. Brooklyn "Dodgers"?

[edit]

I was wondering if there is an error with reference to the 1948 game between the San Francisco 49ers and the Brooklyn Dodgers. The Brooklyn Dodgers were a baseball team, not a football team, so how would there have been a game between two teams from different sports?

There was a Dodgers NFL team: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brooklyn_Dodgers_%28NFL%29 70.16.76.190 (talk) 05:50, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Why is this game missing from the current list?

Highest score

[edit]

Answer is wrong. 113 .. New york giants vs Washington redskins. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 166.137.101.177 (talk) 01:08, 11 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

List starts at fourth highest

[edit]

This article states that the 99-point game in the first section is the fourth highest, where are first through third?70.16.76.190 (talk) 05:48, 27 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Updated, new 2nd-highest score

[edit]

I don't have a login. I've edited what was the second-highest scoring game (and is now the joint-second-highest) to mark it as the highest score ever in the AFL, and made note of the NFL record broken tonight: two QBs combining for 13 touchdown passes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2A02:C7D:840C:200:BCBA:766:1BF2:435B (talk) 21:49, 1 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Missing from list

[edit]

I do not know how to edit or add content. I attempted to learn to do so and a message popped up that said my browser is not supported. Therefore, I hope someone else can add this game into the list. It is actually referred to in the entry for the Giants vs Saints game that just made the list as tying for third place. The game I am talking about is the November 2, 1969, game between the New Orleans Saints (51) and the St. Louis Cardinals (42). The total points for that game was 93, so it should be added to the list under regular season games. Here is a reference for those scores: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/196911020crd.htm . Thanks! Also, in the interest of neutrality (I'm a Saints fan so that is how I knew about the 1969 game), there are some other NFL games that, pending verification, look like they should be added to the list within this list: http://sportslistoftheday.com/2011/10/24/new-orleans-saints-score-62-every-nfl-teams-highest-scoring-game/ . For example, the Oct. 22, 1950, game between the St. Louis (then Los Angeles) Rams (70) vs. the Baltimore Colts (27) scored 97 points and I did not see that in this list either. Thanks!

Los Angeles Rams vs. Kansas City Chiefs (November 19th, 2018)

[edit]

Editing is locked, but I would change the description of the Los Angeles Rams vs Kansas City Chiefs November 19th 2018 game to say that it was the first game in NFL history to have both teams score 50 or more points instead of it saying that it was the first game in which both teams scored 50. Rainman2477 (talk) 13:17, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I would also add that it's the first game where a team has scored 50+ points and lost. 76.181.244.197 (talk) 15:56, 20 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

1948 49ers - Dodgers game

[edit]

Should the 63-40 game between the San Francisco 49ers and Brooklyn Dodgers in 1948 be listed? The game was the AAFC, not the NFL, but we do have an AFL game on the list.

What else to add to opening description?

[edit]

Noticed the thing about the description being short, but have had a hard time coming up with what else to add there. I added some small things but doubtful it’s enough to officially remove the notice. Any ideas feel free to send by me or add them. Eg224 (talk) 00:26, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Eg224: I'd recommend looking at the intro to the List of highest-scoring NBA games, which contains information on the basics of basketball scoring and the historical context of the scores, for ideas. Hatman31 (talk) 01:54, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

thanks! I did consider looking at how scoring has evolved over time or doing something like that. I think I’ll mention some stuff about the way to score and if there has been any evolutions. Maybe I’ll do some other stuff as well- thanks! Eg224 (talk) 03:15, 6 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

two-point conversion, a safety (1-2 points)

[edit]

In the description of points there is an error. 1-2 points is wrong for a 2 point conversion or safety. Both result in 2 points and it should say “two-point conversion, a safety (2 points)”. 2601:547:C97E:3B0:3814:1F1A:AEB4:B6BA (talk) 20:18, 28 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

NFL rules allow for a 1 point safety, so it is correct as is. --Super Goku V (talk) 06:41, 5 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

1940 NFL Championship Game

[edit]

Why is this game not in the list?

1940 NFL Championship Game Kev22257 (talk) 02:51, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

At first glance it appears that the criteria for this article is the combined score of both teams. Beach drifter (talk) 02:53, 29 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Add Raiders Vs Chargers?? (63-21)

[edit]

The raiders beat the chargers 63-21 last season, that should be the second highest on the list. 4.4.140.98 (talk) 18:16, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
