Movement vs movements

[edit]

Sources (both popular and scholarly) differ in whether they speak of a single "LGBT movement" or multiple "LGBT movements". I think this has been a topic of some controversy in the history of this article, and I don't want to relitigate that controversy here, but I also think the article could do with some (neutral) discussion of those terminological issues. It's more sensible that it be "LGBT rights movement". Zenomonoz (talk) 02:11, 9 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So yeah, I think there are two terminological disputes here (1) "LGBT movement[s]" vs "LGBT rights movement[s]"; (2) "LGBT movement" vs "LGBT movements". Still, my point in this section was to argue we should discuss these terminology issues in the article somewhere; I was trying to avoid reopening the can of worms about what the article should be called.
