Measurements

[edit]

"The Komati enters the sea 15 m. north of Maputo. It is navigable from its mouth, where the water is up to 5 m. deep, to the foot of the Lebombo." There is something strange about the data here. if "m." stands for miles, then "15m. north of Maputo" is ok, but the river is nowhere 5 miles deep. If "m." stands for meters, then the river being 5 meters deep might?? be ok , but it cannot "enters the sea 15m. north of Maputo". And navigable to the foot of the Lebombo may be 50 years ago, the river has hardly any water when it enters Mozambique (something has to explain the green sugarcane plantations before the border) and the tide does not get there!
