Title - Friends of the everglades

[edit]

The title should really be Friends of the Everglades, with a capital E, how do you change that, or can you?? Thanks.Natural (talk) 12:34, 1 November 2011 (UTC)Natural[reply]

To improve this, prune back press release and rewrite in encyclopedic language, add a picture or two, and do WP:MOS fixes, merge duplicate references using name=. There is probably more published in newspapers to include too. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 21:11, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the criteria are listed at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. You have some of that already, but an infobox is a good idea. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 10:47, 3 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
The infobox is in, but I had a little problem with the syntax of the image. If someone might be able to please correct the syntax of the infobox image, I can't figure it out. Natural (talk) 09:22, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Natural[reply]
Friends of the Everglades logo. I didn't include the logo because wasn't sure about permissions needed, if any. If no permission is needed, it would be better if someone else put in the logo, because I communicate with Friends of the Everglades, and don't want to be appear to personally jump the gun with them, unless they provided permission to me personally, but if there is no issue, someone else can add the logo, please. Don't know the legalities of it.Natural (talk) 09:24, 4 November 2011 (UTC)Natural[reply]
Logos here can be used under fair use and no permission is required. If you give a URL with the logo on it I can sort it out for you. We use {{non-free logo}} and {{logo fur}} templates. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:28, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Use this syntax for the infobox image:

|image = Everglades FH020005.jpg
|alt=Friends of the Everglades was created in 1969/1970 by Marjory Stoneman Douglas. Image: Cape Sable by Deror avi

I have not done it due to risk of edit conflict! Graeme Bartlett (talk) 09:34, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Review Requested

[edit]

The article has significant improvements, including images, infobox and grammatical, spelling corrections. If someone might review the article for potential B or A class, it would be appreciated. Any suggestions are also appreciated. Natural (talk) 09:30, 5 November 2011 (UTC)Natural[reply]

A-Class Nomination

[edit]

I would like to nominate this article for A-Class rating. If another editor would like to review the article and vouch their support for this nomination, we can then make this an A-Class article. Otherwise, please tell me why you believe this is not suitable for an A-Class rating. Anjwalker Talk 10:15, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no A class in AFC project. Instead you should be shooting for a Good article. There is still a lot of work to fix up imbalance/POV. And the Manual of Style has a lot of guidelines that need to be implemented. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 11:24, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I was under the impression their was an A-Class and that you had to have two seperate editors review it and agree that it was A-Class? Sorry for this mistake. I will research Good article then. Anjwalker Talk 11:29, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Only a few projects have A class, as it needs more rules and organization to function. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 12:30, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
OK, thanks, I've got the point about the POV, I had planned to balance the information on Friends of the Everglades, with the other side of the viewpoint on certain issues, so will work on that no. the Manual of Style, I have to review that information, I'm going to try here at WP:Manual of Style Thanks. Hey .....!

Here is a JPG & PNG of the FoE logo.

These are email correspondences w/Friends of the Everglades, who approved of sending a jpg to me for use on the Wikipedia information box. The logo is directly from the email attachment, approved by Friends of the Everglades for Wikipedia

I blanked out some of he email addresses here and some of the names.

Besides that, it seems as if the logo is permissible under fair use. Natural (talk) 12:24, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Natural[reply]

captions on logo and Lake Okee.. image

[edit]

If someone might read the captions. Maybe they can be worded better, for the logo and Lake Okeechobee. Thanks. Natural (talk) 13:00, 14 August 2012 (UTC)Natural[reply]
