Expanded article

[edit]

Hello, fellow Wikipedians!

I have just expanded the article on Effie Lee Morris as part of a Wiki Ed class related to my course at the University of Washington: Cultural History of Children's and Young Adult Literature.

The original article gave a fine overview, but the content was fragmented and drew mostly from the many obituaries written about Morris. I updated references to prioritize print sources when possible and corrected some missing links. In terms of content, I attempted to draw attention to Morris's pioneering public library services for children, especially minority groups and the visually-impaired. Since Morris was very active in advocacy organizations and received many awards, I changed these sections to bulleted, chronological lists. I also added a bibliography.

Thank you to my peer reviewers Mimabe06 and Monte141 for their close reading and encouragement, and to classmates Niortega and ParkerHeustess for the inspiration I drew from early drafts of their own articles.

Please do let me know if you find broken/incorrect links or have updates to the content. Thank you! NamakaOK (talk) 18:38, 8 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
